I'm disappointed, yet cannot explain my reasoning.

Your reasoning is a deep, introspective illumination of your cortex of higher learning and realization. Some call it intuition, some say clairvoyance and some might even say it's from watching how badly he's played so far.

I'm just curious as to why they let this leak out because now CMU will know who to focus their preparations for when otherwise they would have to prepare for both
quarterbacks.

I guess when we saw 4⭐️ behind his name, we were expecting something similar to Kawahi Leonard in his first game. What we have is a kid that will be taking alot of reps and hope he is loyal 2 years down the road. It doesnt look like Sean Lewis wants to deviate from his style of play and just run the football. That all we can do at this time until we find WR that can catch the ball and a OL that can give him an extra second or two to make his reads. The game is too fast for our QB right now. Hopefully our defense can put up some points on the board.

I’m bummed, not because O’Neill starting, but because the second string dude isn’t. I thought he played rather well in his game and it was just all the stupid penalties that shot us in the foot.

Old timers like myself understand why two year olds should not compete in the Kentucky Derby. The same reasoning applies to Frosh quarterbacks. They're simply not physically, mentally, or emotionally ready to play at this level. They need that red shirt season to mature, learn the system, and learn how to be a quarterback.

I think Paul did a very good job in his pregame analysis and one of his keys was our QBs ability to run the ball in this game . It is clear that at this time ( with O'neills injury) that is an area where Johnson is superior . I will trust Coach Lewis judgement this early in his SDSU coaching career but I hope his decision is based on our best chance to win and grow this team and not commitments to a QB he brought in.

Not good. Our OL will be confused by the voice and have a handful of false starts.

On observing the 2 QB I think O'Neil has the more upside. I was very disappointed to see how slow Johnson was. I think O'Neil is much faster and has a lot better presence in the pocket. I think both have about the same arm strength but I like O'Neil's throwing motion better. It is too early to tell who is more accurate.

I'm wondering why AJ Duffy isn't getting much consideration, he was a 4-star QB out of high school with plenty of options. I'm suspecting he left Florida State thinking his playing time would increase at SDSU.
