I like our chances on Saturday. The defense has been solid. Less chance of wearing down in the 4th quarter vs this team. The offensive scheme really has been good, but the penalties are constantly killing our scoring opportunities. Despite O'Neill's overthrows early in the first two games, both of our QB's have shown more throwing accuracy than any other Aztec QB from the last few years. I expect continual improvement starting this week.

Either QB has the ability to throw the deep out and the deep pass something few Aztec QBs had the arm strength to do successfully. I think it will all click at some point, be nice if it was this Saturday.

Reduce penalties. Don't fumble on the one yard line. Don't use just one running back. We might have a chance!

CMU's defense is awful, and if we put up another stinker, this game would be a pretty good indicator of HC Lewis' scheme this year.

Guessing reduce the penalties is #1 Reducing the penalties is for sure the most important thing. But it's also low hanging fruit. Still got to perform and execute on the field so we have different keys to the game. But for sure you're right.

Yes, my bad...corrected 16-1-1. SDSU is 11-1-1 against teams that were members of the MAC at the time of the game.

If we can't get pass rush pressures on them, its going to be a long day. We must force them to throw to win. They have 4 RBs capable of 100 yards.

It is time for Lewis to show some coaching chops. So far, beyond the 2nd half of with Texas A&M Commerce, we've looked a lot like Hoke’s team of the prior 2 years. Discombobulated on offence and a good defense for about 3 quarters until we start giving up big plays. Understand the freshman QB, lot of new players and new system but we should be a little better on O is O is your forte.

SDSU took advantage of the lower level Commerce team in the second half
CAL and OSU did the same with lower level talent of SDSU in the second half
By the time the second half comes into play the better quality teams seem to have the better stamina and reserves to get the better of the lower level team
Of course Penalties and Turnovers start to show up to determine who might win the game
again as we have talked about for a few years a team has to win the game at the LOS
both of SDSU's QB's have the ability to make things happen if they get the time or openings to make plays

Regarding penalties, quality control will be job one.
That's on the coaches.
Oldie Out
