Given what Canzano wrote today about the inside workings of Nevarez and the MWC, I have to wonder if the source isn't from USU. I am sure Nevarez was downright suspicious of SDSU's intentions and likely knew that Fresno, Boise, CSU and UNLV were interested in joining the PAC and were likely targets. USU, I didn't have them on my Bingo card, however.

Who do you take as an 8th? If you can swing UConn fball and Gonzaga Olympics do you do that and hold firm until lit settles with pac and acc?

If UNLV does come on board we have a rarity in College sports today, a real D1 Geographic Conference. If you look at a map of the new PAC 12 (8) all states would be contigious.

Every conference needs a Vanderbilt, although Utah St. isn't helping the conference GPA, so what exactly are the Aggies bringing?
So far the new Pac is just the MWC Part Deux.

Even though their fans and players are passionately obnoxious, I welcome them. It does seem to be a consistent thing with fans and players in the State of Utah.

So far the new Pac is made up of five MWC teams, and two teams that no major BCS conference wanted. So yea, that's my view. What's yours...?

The Pac 12 brand is huge. It has to piss off some of the defectors that it still exists along with it's history and records; especially since some of the former institutions want to the erase the past.

The fact that it isn't the MWC is why I like it. If we could add UNLV and Gonzaga, that would be perfect. Cut out the deadweight and most of the altitude. Its a very good basketball league, ok football league. Dutcher could schedule all the OOC games he wants, too

The 8th is going to be UNLV. There's always Sacramento State, here's the podcast video. www.youtube.com/watch?v=5wN6CmyqRT8The "SAC 12" is a committee that has the collective goal of "taking Sacramento State Athletics to the next level." This week, the committee announced a plan that will bring new athletic facilities to the program in order to improve the school's chances of receiving an invitation to the Pac-12 or Mountain West conference.

Ziegler’s article today did not paint UNLV in a very good light.
A recent fiscal report provided to the regents noted UNLV’s athletic department faces a budget deficit of $20.6 million and required $11 million in bridge loans and other university funding this year as well as a hiring freeze and travel limitations.
How can they afford to invest?
