I honestly do not understand all the love for Hawaii... Desperation and amazing road trips make for strange bed fellows. Also... they are used to taking an uneven revenue split

I'd pass on all remaining MWC schools. Whether it's UNLV, UNR, Texas State, UCONN, etc. it's not going to have a material impact on the media deal.

Teams I'd rather have before UNLV:
Air Force Nevada UTEP Hawaii Texas State
I'm sure there are more. UNLV is a mirage and not worth the headaches they will bring to the PAC12.

as they end up losing their QB UNLV is losing some splash
AFA is better in the AAC
So maybe add the 2 schools from Texas - they may have financial supporters and RECRUITING

I've seen a couple of times today that UNLV turned down the first offer from the PAC and that went to USU. Now UNLV wants to accept the first offer but it is no longer on the table. I don't think the PAC is playing hardball out of spite. I think they have doubts as to what value UNLV brings with a nearly $21M AD deficit.
I haven't seen or heard any other MWC schools mentioned, just UConn.

OK, I’m gonna throw something out there. I honestly think the University of Nevada would be a better addto the Pac 12 than UNLV. Nevada is the only sporting team in Reno and as of 2024 Reno had a population of 538,000 people. They support their teams and if they’re athletic department is willing to commit to a minimum spend of say 50 or $60 million a year to upgrade their facilities and coaching staff. I think they actually be a pretty cool addition. I also have a vacation home about 35 minutes from the stadium so would be great to be able to go to my place and then swing down and watch a pack 12 game of Nevada versus San Diego State. Go Aztecs! I like U. of Nevada. I'd like it a lot better if it had Vegas' media market, but I'd take the city of Reno over Vegas. That said, if they got the invite, they'd have to go in with the stipulation that they've gotta upgrade their stadium. The track sucks -- dig it out and lower the field like the Coliseum did, that'll increase the capacity as well as make it less remote to the fans in the stands. I like the rest of the campus, though. Certainly they'd have to be higher in the pecking order than a lot of the nonsense I've seen out there. Besides,if you take them then the MWC definitely implodes and UNLV most likely stops whatever nonsense they are up to and into the PAC 12 fold. Unfortunately I don't see the MWC imploding. They will scoop up New Mexico State, UTEP, Texas State and be okay.

I still prefer UNLV over any other realistic school. If Barry Odom gets hired away, then they will surely name their OC Brennan Marrion as the replacement. He may be the biggest reason for their current success. We almost hired him as HC before Sean Lewis came along. As long as they can somehow put a muzzle on that RebelRobert clown, I'd welcome them.

What happens if we sweeten the pot and give Cal a chunk of change (assuming the lawsuit against the MW is favorable) to come back? IE instead of giving the MW $54M in poaching fees, we give that to Cal in a lump sum?

Get this show on the road and end the uncertainty.

If Odom gets poached, he will likely want to take his people with him. Will the UNLV job be that attractive if they are stuck in the MWC without SDSU, Boise, Fresno, CSU, USU and AFA? I don't think so. Even an OC at a P4 school would be better than that job. And he could end up getting a G level HC job. I'd think USU might be one option.

He (Marion) already had more than one interview with a G5 school (SDSU), so obviously he's interested in a head coaching job.
