Have to wonder if there is an exception for Hawaii.

Just a reminder you are responsible for your incidental expenses. I only drink the little bottles of gin and vodka. I fill the empties with water and put them back in the mini-bar. And thank god for the internet, where business road warriors can now splurge to their heart's content on laptop porn. It was always so embarrassing to submit hotel receipts with all the exorbitantly expensive porn titles listed so your CFO could reject your expense report, while needling you about your after-hours proclivities. At least that's what I've been told by various colleagues.

PAC12 Oregon State Washington State Boise State San Diego State Colorado State Fresno State Utah State
MWC UNLV Air Force San Jose State Nevada New Mexico Hawaii Wyoming
I think UNLV is afraid to join the PAC because they'll get pummeled most years. They want to be the big dog in a small pond.

Nice uniforms and we usually win! So a body-bag game in Paradise...cool. Schedule home and homes OOC and leave it at that. They bring nothing but outbound expense to the members of a new conference. You're either serious about making money, or you're not.

OK, I’m gonna throw something out there. I honestly think the University of Nevada would be a better addto the Pac 12 than UNLV. Nevada is the only sporting team in Reno and as of 2024 Reno had a population of 538,000 people. They support their teams and if they’re athletic department is willing to commit to a minimum spend of say 50 or $60 million a year to upgrade their facilities and coaching staff. I think they actually be a pretty cool addition. I also have a vacation home about 35 minutes from the stadium so would be great to be able to go to my place and then swing down and watch a pack 12 game of Nevada versus San Diego State. Go Aztecs!

I like U. of Nevada. I'd like it a lot better if it had Vegas' media market, but I'd take the city of Reno over Vegas. That said, if they got the invite, they'd have to go in with the stipulation that they've gotta upgrade their stadium. The track sucks -- dig it out and lower the field like the Coliseum did, that'll increase the capacity as well as make it less remote to the fans in the stands. I like the rest of the campus, though. Certainly they'd have to be higher in the pecking order than a lot of the nonsense I've seen out there. Besides,if you take them then the MWC definitely implodes and UNLV most likely stops whatever nonsense they are up to and into the PAC 12 fold.

I hear they are also working on a new Arena Dowtown. Plus I like the fans they are nice.

I would go with Hawaii as FB only. Hawaii has a population of 1.8M with over 1M of those in Oahu. That would bring our BB conference schedule to 16 games as well. This could be a thread with a POLL attached, now that would be entertaining. Is it too late.

Huge project in "planning stage" over at the GSR (Grand Sierra Resort) in hopes of attracting bigger concerts and maybe even an NBA team down the road, seriously looking at a huge arena in the Southwest Corner of their parking lot that will be home to the Wolfpack Basketball

Hell, they could've just asked us!! I knew they were getting a new arena, but I just assumed they'd have the brain-power to put it within reach of their students. Lemme guess... Big gambling conglomerate offered to build it for free and give them free rent and the concessions, blah blah blah?? As Ben Franklin put it: Those who lay down with dogs, wake up with fleas. Anyway... Write that into the stipulation as well: Must build their new arena on their campus...

It would be funny if it was Nevada. But I could see a case for Hawaii. Football only at a reduce share so you can pay Gonzaga. I could see SJSU for market. Not that they own it but it might mean something to someone. I could see AF, they have a national following. Of all those, I think SJSU has the best chance of being competitive in football and basketball. SJSU hasn't been good for a while in football or basketball with a few exceptions. They were D1 (University Division) long before we were. However, if the PAC runs out of options, SJSU might not be a terrible choice. Travel is convenient and cheaper than many of the other options. That's a big help to all the Olympic sports especially. Sparty has three Bowls in the last four seasons and are looking good for four out of five. That's more success than our FB program has in the same time frame. The IKEA Stadium is an eye sore and their Basketball program may never compete again.
