I would go with Hawaii as FB only. Hawaii has a population of 1.8M with over 1M of those in Oahu. That would bring our BB conference schedule to 16 games as well.

NCAA requires a minimum of 8 FBS schools in a conference. Hawaii qualifies as an FBS school.

Both Hawaii and UNLV have pros and cons. I grab the one that the TV wonks say brings the most value. Hawaii has a significant academic advantage in case a tiebreaker becomes necessary.

I didn't realize that.  Do you know if paring with Gonzaga, as others have suggested, solves that problem?  Or, do we invite Hawaii for all sports?  If travel for the Big West is manageable for Hawaii and the BW Conference it should be workable for the PAC if necessary.  Long plane flight, but at least it's not at altitude.

I read the NCAA agreement. I am no lawyer and when I stay at a hotel its the Motel 6 using CWAG's credit card, but the requirement to be a FBS conference requires only that the conference have 8 FBS institutions. Hawaii is an FBS institution.

Hawaii doesn't have a football stadium! They have the same situation the City of San Diego had with the chargers. No one wants to pay for it. It also would be even more smaller than our stadium.

It would be funny if it was Nevada. But I could see a case for Hawaii. Football only at a reduce share so you can pay Gonzaga. I could see SJSU for market. Not that they own it but it might mean something to someone. I could see AF, they have a national following. Of all those, I think SJSU has the best chance of being competitive in football and basketball.

If either are interested sign up San Jose State or Hawaii. Take the one that jumps first. Be done with this foolishness. If UNLV wanted in they would be in by now.

SJSU hasn't been good for a while in football or basketball with a few exceptions.  They were D1 (University Division) long before we were.  However, if the PAC runs out of options, SJSU might not be a terrible choice.  Travel is convenient and cheaper than many of the other options.  That's a big help to all the Olympic sports especially.
