He's delusional. Who'd want them? Despite what they say they don't own the Denver market, CU does.

I knew Graham's dad who died a few years ago. He commanded a company of 17 light tanks in Europe during WWII. He didn't talk about it much but when he did it was clear that the combat was brutal. He was a great and really funny fellow. One of his greatest loves was ice cream.

I agree with this. Find the best G5 teams in the largest media markets you can. That could be an interesting league.

He's delusional. Who'd want them? Despite what they say they don't own the Denver market, CU does. If we're talking about a "best of the rest" conference, CSU is definitely in there. With UCF, Cincinnati, Houston, BYU, and SMU all gone to power conferences, there's not much out there to choose from. It's just the Mountain West, plus the few schools left in the AAC that haven't been poached yet. Memphis, USF, Navy. After that, there's Army and nothing really desirable from the MAC/Sun Belt/CUSA.

AAC teams are not going to be able to pay Exit Fees
Schools in the MAC are going to be major travel issues including costs especially for minor sports
So unless the ACC unravels it might be the Re Incarnation of the PAC or PAC Light -

It would make sense that all those ACC schools besides, Florida State, Clemson, Notre Dame, North Carolina and Virginia would have to do something and now that Stanford and Cal are there, other West Coast teams would make travel sense. EastSyracuse Boston College North Carolina State Georgia Tech Pittsburgh Wake Forest Virginia Tech Louisville would be left There's some talk maybe Miami would go to the SEC too. And Duke maybe to the Big East. So let's leave them out. So maybe: WestStanford Cal Oregon State Washington State San Diego State Tulane Colorado State Memphis

Without the ACC heft, does Wake Forrest and BC make the cut? And if this does come to pass, I would assume the B12 would step in and take Pitt, Syracuse, and Louisville.

Put SMU in the West and take out either Washington State or Colorado State. It's no SEC, B1G or Big 12 but it's a whole helluva lot better than the MWC.

With UCF, Cincinnati, Houston, BYU, and SMU all gone to power conferences We were supposed to be in a best of the rest conference with those exact schools 12 years ago. They are now haves with 30 million dollar a year media deals. Makes me think San Diego State & Boise State should have made that jump to the Big East/American & Big West. It would have set the tone that we were the only Non-P5 schools worth a damn that were west of the rocky mountains... Instead Boise backed out to become Kings of the molehill and we had to follow back with our tail between our legs. During the whole PAC speculation, we were valued to be anywhere from 10 to 15 million per year for a power conference... We currently get 3 million per year thanks to all the dreck in the MWC. I'm ready to jump to anything with a new name and different set of schools.

Let me know if this, or anything happens. Until then , we will always be the bride let at the alter. Do we even get to the altar? I think State needs to look at UCONN did in basketball and emulate. UCONN subsidizes the athletic department with $30M per annum. State needs to do the same, put another $15M into athletics with $10M going to Football and $5M going to basketball. No one is coming to save State. State needs to save State.

so this is not best of the rest as much as it is dependent on the ACC falling apart - with key element being what ESPN deciding what it may do in Feb 2025 with their TV deal with the ACC
Would guess that ESPN might want a much lower payout for any Newer Conference
Might also speculate that the BIG and or SEC might add schools only IF it'son the BIG and SEC terms - schools with a large amount of TV Viewers and new schools getting a much lower % of the TV deal
Could the Big 12 form a Big 12 East and West Division
Most likely it will be what is the best deal for a TV Network to do so they make money

We wouldn't even have gotten close to the Final Four, IMO.

The decision will be made for us. Once the big 10 and sec split from the ncaa, then we will have the best of the rest.
