Micah and numerous other players had numerous guys that had uncontested threes and missed them
As for his defense it sure seemed as though he got into foul trouble quite a few times
Interesting that we sometimes question why a player does not return to their same city they grew up in - for Micah think it was in Michigan but now he heads back to a big rival the Buckeyes
as we are talking about NIL money have even jumped the division between P6 and Non P6 - to who can produce the best NIL program - makes it even harder for the non P6 who do not have a lot of very wealthy Donors
So wish Micah to do well and that he will get to battle the BIG schools and even the schools who used to be in the PAC
Does seem interesting that if lamont returns and Shay is still on the roaster SDSU could have close to 10 players on scholarship that Dutcher recruited from HS

His personal NIL at tOSU will probably be greater than the entire team NIL at SDSU. This simply isn’t true. The projected budget for Mesa Foundation next year is $1.5m with the possibility of an additional $1m for the Vegas tourney. All the more reason for people to invest (especially with the match) but let’s not pretend we don’t have 2 nickels to rub together. A couple weeks back, I read Aztec B-ball NIL is $2,500 month per player. That's $30k per player per year. $30k x 14 players (?) = $420k. I was short $20k. Let the the abuse and ridicule begin.

Anyone know which school in the MWC has the most NIL dollars for basketball? Football? Per a recent article about the UNLV Basketball Collective. "According to Paulos, the Friends of UNILV collective has combined to pay its athletes between $500,000 and $600,000 in each of the past two years." Which is slightly more than State. Hold onto your pants when you see the Lobo and UNR NIL. "We’re raising from behind,” Paulos says. “Reno has a budget, I’m told, of $1.2 million. New Mexico has spent $1.5 million. I know New Mexico outbid a couple of schools for some of their players.” Boise is the Big Boss in Football. UNLV is a distant second. SDSU simply cannot compete in this environment. Not even in our own Conference. m.lasvegassun.com/news/2023/jul/09/nil-changed-the-game-and-will-only-continue-to-evo/

That's a massive improvement from last season. And I am using '23 numbers. Not just projections. See my previous post about the MW competition.

Is it really year round? If they stick around and practice hoops in the JAM center during the summer, I get it. However, if they travel instead do they still get paid? That, I don't get.

Any word on how much his NIL paycheck is? Per Ziegler’s article a few minutes ago, “The NIL package, according to sources, is estimated at $400,000.” WOW!!! I always chuckle when people actually believe the "reported" numbers from "sources".

In my opinion $400k is a wild number for a guy who plays good defense but is a poor shooter. Good on him for getting paid but he doesn’t seem worth that number for Ohio St.

Your honor, the state wishes to enter into evidence, Exhibit A (for how NIL has already ruined college basketball): Micah Parrish, a senior-wing and supposed sniper that shot 29% from deep in the MWC... getting paid $400k by a B10 doormat. We rest our case! Just like keshad, you’re paying for MM tournament/winning experience, great defense, and live with the rest. Teams that win are typically loaded with more than a few experienced vets. I'm a big fan of Micah's and I hate to see him leave. However, he never was a " great defender"...... Great team guy.....

Okay. $2,500 per month x 9 months = $22.5k per year x 14 players = $315k per year for the entire squad. Micah is reported to get $400k. Keyshad got roughly $500k. My previously posted article indicated the mid-range for the G5's is $1.4 mil. We are not there yet. The biggest reason we finished 5th in the Conference was, we lost out on top transfers because we didn't have good NIL. Every team above us, had a better NIL except the Utags whose Coach brought his roster with him. It's not just the NIL. The revolving Transfer Portsl door made the money the key factor. We were fortunate LeDee was out of transfers. Had the rules changed pre -season, State would have been pedestrian last season. To me, the Portal needs to be restricted. One free move and a Coaching change. NIL needs to be capped by level of play. Otherwise, the Big Boys will always win.

He can go on a good, short shooting streak, but he can also go on a bad, long shooting streak. Good luck to him. I can't blame him for getting paid. You have to get what you can, when you can, because you never know when an injury, or other life event will prevent you from doing so.
