This sucks. I really wanted to watch this kid next year. Does anybody know that we even recruited Cardenas? Seemed like a good fit, but never saw that we were after him. I never saw anything that said we recruited him. I’m going off how much I think we could benefit from a true PG who can shoot and get six assists a game. It’s possible Dutch has his sights on a bigger prize in the portal.

All this talk of the need for a PG.
What's up with BJ Davis?

Last year BJ shot 3-15 from the field (20%), 1-11 from three (.91%, and probably an all-time record low for a guard), 1 assist with 4 turnovers, and 13 fouls in 67 minutes. No way is BJ running point next year. This guy was a true frosh PG last year and he was spectacular with no seasoning. unlvrebels.com/sports/mens-basketball/roster/dedan-thomas-jr-/15791I'm rooting for BJ, just waiting for him to shine.

7'0" Center Jazz Gardner (Nevada) has reduced his list to 4 schools; Boise State, LMU, St Joe's & Iona.
If Gardner commits to Boise State. The starting five could be as follows
C: Jazz Gardner 7'0 210 PF: Omar Stanley 6'8 230 SF: Tyson Dengenhart 6'7 235 SG: Chibuzo Agbo 6'7 220 (NBA draft entry) or Roddie Anderson (UCSD) 6'2 180 PG: Alvaro Cardenas 6'1 175
Plus a deep bench, that's a pretty good line-up.

That's a super strong lineup. Stanley/Degenhart/Agbo/Cardenas alone are a foursome you can expect to win you a lot of games, and if they can add a true 5 to bump everyone up a spot in the lineup, I think this next season could be the year they finally breakthrough in the tournament. Good for the Mountain West, therefore good for us.

Dutch just finished an interview with 760’s Jon & Jim. Dutch said he has a player coming in this week & one on Sunday. 🤞 Heard that too. Gonna need one of you campus insiders to figure out who the two visits are, so I can stop scrolling Twitter like a madman searching for any tidbit of information (please and thank you).

Not sure if Dutcher is allowed to put out names until it becomes official for a player entering SDSU - but maybe Zeigler might have some information or the recruit might post something
In addition did Parrish say he will get NBA evaluation and also enter the Portal -
Per Dutcher when a player says they are in the Portal that means to him they have 1 foot out the door and for Dutcher that means to recruit that person's replacement

However, San Diego State and Dutcher prefer not to conduct their recruiting activities through the press or social media channels. As of now, there hasn't been any information available on Twitter, Verbal Commits, On3, Rivals, or 247 Sports regarding which players are being recruited, whether they have received offers, or their likelihood of signing with the team. I am looking at all you insiders.

His stats don't really matter, it was all garbage time. What matters is that he's going to be a sophomore. Ideally he gives us 5-10 minutes per game as the last guy off the bench if we can get a 5'th year transfer PG.
