Indeed. Seventh game this year where UVA failed to score 50. That makes SDSU's offense look like the Showtime Lakers. (Wait, did someone already post that?) I felt nervous about our offense, and then I watched UVA play. I was thinking the same thing. Then I realized the game was never even close and UVA can't hit the side of a barn. I am praying we catch fire with out outside shooting or we might have an early exit as well. Many prayers will be said tonight and hopefully the Aztec gods are listening.

I saw this game. Virginia was very bad. Missed a ton of open looks. A ton. Don’t know how they made the tourney. They missed a lot of open deep looks, but CSU defense was good. Especially in that first half. Early on CSU missed some easy shots (bunnies), but their defense was great. Virginia hit a couple difficult shots. But that was all Virginia were able to hit. CSU then started making the easy shots and the game was pretty much over by the time Virginia was getting a fair amount of open 3 point looks (that Virginia missed a very large percent of). My point is the Virginia open looks mostly happened when the outcome was decided. CSU played great. They represented the MWC great. I hope their outstanding play continues. Go MWC. Go Aztecs.

Colorado is good. They underperformed but they have more talent than Boise. They have a high lottery pick and another first round NBA pick. Colorado is favored so it won’t be easy. The Buffs are good? They played in a weak conference and got beat by Arizona by 20 and 47, Boise can beat them. Yeah, I don't know why Colorado got invited. I suppose it is because they are in the PAC12, but the PAC was really weak this year. Even Arizona was less than impressive once the conference games started.

So is it a battle between third place teams in their conferences BSU vs Colorado ?
By the way did SDSU only have about 17 points the other game heading into the half before DT hit a three point shot to bounce them up to maybe 20 points at the half
although most of the media also thought Virginia looked terrible as well -

We had 22 points against UNLV at halftime. The BIG difference we scored 43 points second half. I don't think anyone thinks Virgina offense is terrible they know it is.

My favorite fan thing in yesterday's game was a T-shirt a Colorado State fan was wearing: "Virginia Basketball is Iowa Football". For the uninitiated, Virginia ranked 354th out of 363 D-i BB teams in scoring. Iowa ranked 129th out of 130 D-I FB teams in scoring.

Colorado is pretty darn good. I'd be shocked if Boise wins "fairly easily." Colorado lost to Florida State, Colorado State, Arizona State, Cal and UCLA. And they played the 245th hardest OOC schedule. Boise played the 25th. I may have overstated the "fairly easily" and Colorado is favored by 3 points but I think Boise beats them for Leon Rice's first MM win in 5 tries and Boise State's first win in 10 tries. They have the most MM games without a win in D-1. Boise goes down AGAIN in MM. Disappointed with Degenharts timid play. He needed to make things happen. Of course you can't count out Max Rice and his horrible performance. The game was there for the taking, since Colorado didn't play well either. Oh well, some things never change.

It's obvious now Virginia and Colorado St suck cow balls.

Maybe the seeders were right, the MW is crummy. The reason there were a lot of close games is that they are all crummy.

I hope it's not a repeat of the 2009-10 season when the MWC had 4 teams (State, BYU, UNM and Vegas). Conference went 2-4 with BYU and UNM advanced to the round of 32. We lost to Tennessee 62-59 in the first round.

We lost to Tennessee 62-59 in the first round. Unfortunately, That is higher win percentage than many years for the MWC. I am expecting at least 3 wins this year. Note Nevada and Boise both lost winnable games. They choked at crunch time. Go Aztecs, go MWC.
