I hate both of those teams. USU bombs a 3 with 4 seconds left. SDSU just dodged a Wednesday bullet. Brown, who had missed all game long came up lucky on the last USU possession to win the game.

Great game. Happy that Utah State pulled it out. You are right, we dodged a Wednesday bullet. Thank goodness!

Now, we will get a clearer picture of who SDSU plays on Thursday afternoon … Whoever loses this one, essentially. Since they will be #4. Aztecs will be #5.

Best case scenario (winning on neutral court against highest rated .Net teams): -Win Thursday against Nevada (#34) -Win Friday against Utah State (#32) -Win Saturday MW Championship against Boise (#25)
If that happens, 6-9 in Quad 1 and shot at a #4 seed

is it true that Utah 's team had no returning players from last year? would that be the whole of them or just the starters? and a first year head coach? thanks be to nil?

22-9, and the world is ending.
It wasn't all that many years ago that this program was complete and total poop.
Eternal thanks to Steve Fisher and Brian Dutcher.
Now, a new season begins. The postseason.
LFGSDSU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Utah State ‘s NIL was likely not a factor. None of these players were highly sought after. Brown and Osebar came with Sprinkle from Montana State. My understanding is that Danny Sprinkle is on the very short list to be hired at Washington. So USU may well be starting from scratch again next year.

Nevada since it won’t be on their home court. We would be the 4/5 game Thursday at 2:30pm. This.

Who would have ever thought that the highest ranked MWC team in the NET, Coaches Poll, and AP Poll at the beginning of this week would end up in 5th place at the end of the week. Most of the commentators that I have listened to still think SDSU is the team that can do the deepest run in the NCAA Tourney. We have to make up for the 2 losses this week by winning the MWC tourney so we can get back our higher NCAA tourney seed that I am sure we lost this week. Anything could happen, but the worst case scenario is losing the first game in the MWC tourney at Viejas North. We need to perform well next week.

The 5th seed Aztecs play the Reno-Vegas loser (No. 4 seed) at 2:30 p.m. Thursday. Brown had 19 points today and is not lucky. The luck for giving Utah State the title was the refs blowing the call at end of the Utah State at UNLV game Jan. 13 involving Osobor who (ran into Kalib Boone and should have been called for an offensive rebounding foul) and Boone with his back turned on a bogus foul call. UNLV lost by 1 point that game. Anyone but Utah State to win the tournament championship. Players followed their coach to Utah State.

It doesnt matter who we play. If we spot someone 5 to 10 minutes of no basket we will be on the first flight back to San Diego. I dont care how bad the officials are perceived. No more blaming the officials. Let the blame be put on the coaching staff.

Rubbles currently making a run at 3rd place. UNR came right back with their own run, and now lead by 10 with five minutes left.

The postseason. LFGSDSU!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I haven't been understanding all the complaining and negativity. Sure, this year's team isn't as good as some we've had recently, but it's not a bad team. The MW is the best it's ever been, IMO. We just played another 20+ win season, one of many. We have one of the best win/loss percentages over the last many years. The current coach has the best win/loss in Aztec basketball history. We twice as many MW regular season and tournament championships as the #2 team (16 vs 8). Of course, the run last year to the NCAA Championship game.
So this year isn't the best ever. The program is not in trouble. Reading some of the posts makes it sound like the basketball program is back where it was before Fisher.

I love that we're playing UNLV and then probably Utah State if they win. Both are eminently beatable. And we'd play in the early semi-final (6:30pm) which make a difference the next day at the 3:00pm final. That 9:00pm start for the second semi is brutal.
And although the UNLV "crowd" at our game this week was supposedly a big one, it still felt like it was nothing compared to the sold-out arenas we've played in on the road all year. Aztec fans travel well, I'm not worried about UNLV having a home-court advantage. Go Aztecs!!!
