Mets having no issues with the Dodger bullpen plan, granted Landon Knack isn't a regular bullpen arm. And, the Mets took advantage of that.

Take a look at their pitching situation. I hear ya, but I think their offense makes up for it this year. I hope I'm wrong. I wasn't wrong. Their offense AND their pitching has been phenomenal. They're the team to beat, for sure. They've shut up the doubters, so far.

They've shut up the doubters, so far. They put up 24 runs in the divisional series, we put up 21 runs. I have no idea why we ran out Cease on short rest in G4 with the best bullpen in baseball. I wonder if getting crushed in G4 had a psychological effect on the bats for G5.

Ohtani has had a positive effect on them like I mentioned. It didn't matter what they did in prior post seasons like some have said. When you have a player like Ohtani, it makes everybody better. This team is different from the ones in the past. Everybody's stepping up, especially the pitching staff. They've been very good when it counts. Having said that, of course they could revert back to their playoff woes way, but I'm thinking they don't.

What's really happened is random outbursts from Enrique Hernandez and Muncy being on fire. They've benefitted from the Mets being an utter disaster offensively.

In their three losses, the Mets are 0-17 with runners in scoring position. In game three against Walker Buehler, they had bases loaded and one out...struck out twice. They had two men on the next inning and struck out again.
This is how bad it's going: Walker Buehler hadn't had a game with less than nine runs scored in two and a half months. He had 18 whiffs in four innings, the most since Statcast started tracking pitch data in 2008.

He has a reputation for showing up in the Post Season. The Dodgers have scored 54 runs in the post season. That's 6 runs a game average. They also have 4 shutouts in that span. They have a very potent lineup. There's no denying that. You railed against me, in many of your posts, when I said the that the Dodgers will step it up this post season. You said that they'll fail on the offensive end because of their post season history. I said that it didn't matter. Concerning Ohtani, it doesn't matter what his stats are at the moment. It's the fact that he's inspired them almost season and that's not going to be end if he takes an 0'fer. You're diminishing what he brings to the table, and you're wrong about it.

A sweep is necessary for any chance at the division. I know, very slim chance given the Dodgers' cupcake remaining schedule, but I'd love to go into that series next week 3 games back in the loss column. Yeah, not happening. Let LA get the bye and flame out. Didn't age well.

I don't think they flame out this year, unfortunately. Take a look at their pitching situation. Didn't age well.

I hear ya, but I think their offense makes up for it this year. I hope I'm wrong. Not even close, once you get past the big three. No depth at all. Didn't age well.

What's not even close? That they can't make up for it with their offense? Ding. Didn't age well.

I don't think I've ever said, in this sport, that's it all about how you're playing when you get in. The bye crushes that momentum, so it's counterintuitive. The Dodgers have lost because their offense has been pathetic after coming off the bye. This isn't football, you don't just line up and have the more talented team win out. There's so many more variables in play, like the lack of pitching or a bullpen. I understand their weakness is pitching, but I think their offense will get them by this year. Betts and Freeman? I wouldn't bet on them having a bad playoffs this year. They seem to be more energized. Ohtani can do that to a team. Ohtani can also win a game single handedly, so there's that. He's the "it" factor for them this year, I'm afraid. Hope I'm wrong. This did age well.

Well, it's not a fantasy of mine. More like a nightmare of mine. Like I said, I hope I'm wrong. The past two years should help. This didn't age well.

The past two years should help. That's in the past, and I'm more worried about what they've done in the last two months and having to face Ohtani over there. This did age well. There's a lot more, but you get my drift. You're about the Dodgers. Could they flame out going forward, sure, but it isn't as early as you predicted.

Everything from when you pull your starting pitcher, to what relievers you use.

Because I'm going off what we actually know, that the Dodgers universally underperform in the playoffs. They could have been knocked out of the playoffs easily if the Padres hadn't fallen on their collective face and squandered a 2-1 lead. Variance. Lol...inspired them? Okay. Well, since this isn't Field of Dreams, I'm going to pass. You can handle the abstract stuff, I'll stick to the real world. He almost "inspired" them to lose the NL West. Heavy stuff.

Going into yesterday, Ohtani was 0-22 with no runners on. He can be pitched to. Betts, coming into this year's playoffs, had two hits in the last two postseasons COMBINED. There's a significant amount of variance involved in these games. Game three was a shining example.

You have to also take into consideration that he was in a slump when the offense wasn't going well.
