Staying healthy just took a wrong turn. Hope Profar can shake it off. Looked like it'll leave a mark. Stayed in, but after hobbling into 2nd, he's out of there. Wow.

Leaving 5 guys on base in the last two innings is hopefully more positive about getting multiple base runners on than it's negative about missing limited opportunities.

I really wish they would put Niebla in charge of the bullpen decisions. Estrada allows no runs if Higgy doesn't have that 2nd passed ball. Heck, he ended up striking out the side, essentially. Frustrating. |

I have about 10x more faith in Merrill getting a runner in from 3rd with less than 2 out than I do from Bogaerts.
So far the Padres tonight look more like the 2023 Padres than the 2024 ones.
That was $60,000,000 worth of strikeouts from our two big contract boys.
