Kent State's offense was one of the fastest tempo teams in the country when Lewis was there. If you can find pieces to run it? Boom. We don't have those pieces on the perimeter at the moment. We are going to need to go hard for some receivers and QB.

Didn't Sanders demote him this year? Because Deion doesn’t know what he’s doing. Prime needed a scapegoat for his lousy head coaching.

I'd imagine that Bill O'Boyle will be our OL coach since he was the OL coach at Colorado and Kent State. Will he take anyone else from Colorado? I thought the CU offensive line was one of the worst in the country?

I'm still meh. But the proof will be in the pudding. It will be interesting to see what salary he garnered and who the other finalists were for the job.

I thought the CU offensive line was one of the worst in the country? But Lewis would seem to trust him, and they did a good job together at Kent State... so it makes sense to me.

Does our search firm only recommend Midwesterner’s? Decent hire but concerned about: no SoCal roots, nothing tells me he’s an elite recruiter, what top QB’s did he develop that will convince top QB to come? 24-31 career record as head coach.
I support the hire and hoping for the best.

Lindley might learn a lot from him if he gets to stay.

Kent state has been playing football since the 1920s. They have four bowl appearances and Lewis was responsible for two of them. They had one bowl win, and it was him. It's one of the worst jobs in college football.
He is an offensive guru. Sit back and enjoy the ride.

I wonder if he wears headphones and loves to use the flanker screen on every play? Oldie Out

I think our QB situation will improve dramatically by next year.

Let's just hope he brings one of those top QB recruits who recently decommitted from CU (probably at least in part because he wasn't going to help juice their numbers).

Seems like a solid hire, did a good job at a complete deadend job (kent state). We will see the staff he can get around him. Agree… is there a worse job than Kent State… He is… Young - only 37 OC - has a strong offensive record HC - has built a program from scratch, KSU was and is terrible Solid New Mexico State before they were invited to C-USA was arguably the worst but Kent State is pretty damn close. I'm excited about what he can do here

Because Deion doesn’t know what he’s doing. Prime needed a scapegoat for his lousy head coaching. Sanders was also angry his OC wasn't playing daddy ball

Though Rocky Long was a New Mexico alum, he's originally from the IE. Lewis will need to bring in assistants/recruiters who have inroads throughout the Western territories. We will see next December to gauge how he's doing? Oldie Out

Prime needed a scapegoat for his lousy head coaching. Sanders was also angry his OC wasn't playing daddy ball It was an impossible job and he did it about as well as anyone possibly could. He has a complex set of running plays (and modern triple options with the WR screen acting as the third option) which resulted in him running the ball 55% of the time at Kent State. He threw the ball 65% of the time at CU to get their best players involved (Sanders and Hunter) but took heat for a terrible offensive line getting Sanders sacked too often. If he runs the ball, daddy isn't happy with son's passing numbers, if he throws it the numbers are great but my son is getting hit too much. "I want my son to put up huge numbers while never getting sacked despite a truly garbage offensive line and a son who refuses to make the simple throw or get rid of it."

We are going to need to go hard for some receivers and QB. No, but they will want to come now that we have an offense that showcases them. Look at the offensive output Colorado had before his demotion. I love the quick hire. Should help us tremendously.
