He just arrived into town, be ready for the big announcement tomorrow guys. Oldie Out The long-time SDSU fan in me is suspicious that Chuck Long is going to get off of that plane.

"...my family and I can't express how excited we are to be joining this incredible community," Lewis said. "We are looking forward to partnering with all of you in serving and leading our amazing football program. This time is now to support and make Snapdragon Stadium the place to be for Fast, Physical, Fun Aztec Football."If that was the pitch he made to JD, I can see how he got the job. Should be music to the ears of many here...

Some of y'all have rose colored glasses like SDSU football is an Alabama or Oregon coaching opportunity. Should be in a P5 conference (BIG 12 vs PAC 12) but sadly always left on the outside looking in and no billionaire or $$$ boosters to fund the program and NIL. This is a great hire all factors considered, and I look forward to high scoring exciting games again with a dynamic young innovative coach.

Hopefully, this guy can recruit a quarterback. It all starts with the quarterback.

He does have a "bigger than life" physique and personality which should help getting the fanbase more involved. Neither Hoke nor Long were good in that department. Looking forward to his press conference and to see how he fills out the staff.

think it has been reported that the HS QB that he had been recruiting for Colorado is no longer a recruit there . The QB that Minnesota had last season who is from IL is in the Portal BUT his stats are not that good
Already a lot to do with Portal - HS recruiting - forming a staff

Sorry that the link requires subscription. It came up on my FB feed on my phone and did not require a subscriber log in. From the article: “You know what we’ve got to do to get better,” Sanders said last week. “I don’t think we (were) the only team in the country who made a change (at coordinator), who changed some things around when they felt like they needed to.” They weren’t. Only after Arkansas replaced its offensive coordinator following its first eight games, the Hogs’ scoring average actually went up (26.7 from 26.5) under the new guy. Indiana? Same story. (The Hoosiers managed 20.8 points per game in the five tilts before their OC swap; 23.1 in the seven after.) Maybe Shedeur, once he’s healed, is so fly that Lil Wayne could call plays and make the CU offense hum. But on Tuesday night, a week away from the 1-year anniversary of Sanders’ hiring, you couldn’t shake this feeling that the Buffs had landed right back where they’d started. And that the Aztecs just landed a coup.

Andrew Sowder, former offensive coordinator for Kent State and close relationship with Lewis since their Eastern Illinois days has left Minnesota a couple days ago. He was there as a tight end coach this past year. Guessing Lewis will bring him here as offensive coordinator.
Most likely bring O'boyle here as offensive line coach.

as with any offense depends on the QB and OL - does he have any connections for possible players or assistant coaches so some are saying he was good enough for Prime Time offense OC but not good enough for SDSU Didn't Sanders demote him this year? Anyone that’s been demoted is not a good sign

Because it seems the defense regressed quite a bit this season, so many folks (well, at least me) are worried that the current defensive staff might not be as good as previous staffs... Did the defense regress? Or was SDSU’s defense more a victim of an offense that couldn’t convert on 3rd down or score any points? The defense has been dealing with a crappy offense for a decade… they regressed this year

Didn't Sanders demote him this year? Anyone that’s been demoted is not a good sign Taking the spotlight from Prime and not treating junior like a king could get you demoted in Colorado. I wouldn't give Prime credence. They scored like hell when Lewis was calling, ate dirt when he wasn't. Actions speak louder than words.
