And it's so easy you haven't been able to name....anyone. And you're in the same position then. You're trading offense for defense and upgrading nothing. You don't need an average centerfielder. You need an average right fielder who can substitute for Grisham in his third at bat, sliding Tatis to center for the 7th/8th/9th. Nope.

Personally, I don't agree. To me, at least, it doesn't make any sense to put your best RF in CF, and by doing so, weaken your defense in RF If you can get better offensive production that way, I say you do it. Get creative with Grisham. Generic argument.

No, it's a statement. If the opportunity presents itself, you make that move(s). No, it's a silly premise built on a false construct that replacing a guy "shouldn't be difficult" without any actual thought as to why it IS difficult. Very easy to want more offensive production, not that easy to actually get it.

I'm only saying IF the opportunity presents itself, you do it. It's really not that difficult to understand. If you want to make it more than what I mean, have at it.

When will Jakob Marsee be ready for the show?

If he continues to hit at Double AA he could get a mid-season callup. He certainly has potential to contribute across the boards as he can run a little (46sb) , provide some power (16 hr) and has good contact/on base skills (99k's, 98 walks and a .412 OBP). You got to like his potential and he did have a great AFL session. Potential to replace Grisham in CF is a bonus.

The 2 Padres prospects in the Arizona Fall League ASG tonight: Braden Nett (RHP) was the loser in tonight's contest, going 1 inning, while giving up 2 runs, 2 hits, 1 BB, and 1 K. The guy is just 21, and hasn't pitched above low-A before being selected to the AFL. He pitched against A, AA, and a few AAA betters in this league.
The other Padres farm representative, CF Jakob Marsee (he played LF tonight), had a double in 2 AB, with a strikeout. Marsee is near the top of several offensive categories in the AFL, including BA, at .378
Final score-- AL all stars 6, and NL all stars 3

This guy is coming into his own in the minors, kind of like Ty France 5 years ago.
Good, I hope he gets the call mid 24 and crushes it!
