Don't think they are shopping in that territory as of now. Beware of the AJ surprise. Yeah, you never know with AJ.

Can't be a comfortable front office to be in with the trade deadline around the corner and this team's trajectory, and the reality check that is their record.

One evaluator on upcoming Padre signee Leodalis De Vries: "While Ethan Salas is awesome, I got feedback that De Vries was better from an international scout."

Robby Snelling with a gem in San Antonio. Nine strikeouts in five hitless innings. He's 19.

No rush. Let him continue to develop. Who's rushing him? It's just a comment. I just said "no rush". It's great he's there at 19. I still have issues with Salas at AA.

Salas hasn't done particularly well since he began with the upward mobility. Goes to show he's still got plenty of things to learn about pitchers as the competition becomes more robust. But at 17, he's got plenty of time to learn.

I don't think International has much to do with it. A lot of them are better prepared than U. S. Players.

Baseball America updated farm system rankings:
Padres are #6, up from 23 last season. Once Lesko gets his command back, they'll climb even higher.
