Schools have targeted all of our recruits in the CA top 100. They have been sending those recruits the UT reports on attendance and other unflattering material including The UT’s recent article on Hoke’s low pay and high buyout.
It’s open season and they are using the UT reporting among other things as fodder. All is fair in love and war. But these recruits have been receiving notes that say, why do you want to go to SDSU where they don’t invest in the program and have no fans.
The UT is going to do what they do, but I wonder if they know how much the Zeigler, Kirk, and Miller articles are used in negative recruiting. The exodus will not end here, there are still a couple of kids being pursued hard who are State commits.
In any event, the team needs a few wins on the field, a few fans in the stands, and at least some neutral press.

I think the announced attendance and turnstile count is well documented and covered. But the UT will publish that article 3 more times this year. Zeigler posted a pic of the student section last game and bemoaned their attendance. I mean, hell given how the season has progressed, the students have been a bright spot. That tweet was packaged up and sent out to our recruits with the caption of “The students don’t care either.” The UT is free to do what they want, but the coverage is not neutral.

unfortunately what the UT has been reporting is the truth -
JD has made the decision to keep the ticket prices high - when maybe he should have offered season ticket holder either a reduction and future game tickets to others
or maybe give season ticket holders extra tickets for them to donate to others
Students should have a larger amount of tickets
So SDSU has tickets way too high and a team that is not playing wel so people are not going to pay that much to watch them in person or maybe even on TV
JD extended Brady an extra two years - when instead should have set up bonus system for winning games - MW Title and for attendance ...
This is also on JD - who yes expected PAC 12 invite but once that did not happen should have made revisions in the ticket prices - yes he had planned for the PAC but it did not happen so his job as AD means you have to make adjustments

Don't shoot the messenger! This isn't on the UT or Zeigler or Kenny or whomever. This is on Wicker and Hoke. And to a lesser extent, our Prez because of the PAC12 debacle.

Do not blame the SDSU President or AD for the PAC debacle
But do think that the AD should have been talking with Brady about reaching out to recruits as soon as the PAC situation came to a head or tail spin
Also JD has to look at the empty stands at home games and rethink the ticket prices
The SDSU President has let the AD of the year handle these situations and not micro manage his responsibilities

A top shelf running back ( especially one who is 155 lbs) is going to want an O Line who can open holes to run through. That hasn’t been happening the past two seasons with The Aztecs.

Aztecs have a few weeks to try to turn their football season around - will that be enough to get some additional decent recruits
so did SDSU have 9 recruits and has lost 3 about 33%

I think it's going to take a while to recover from this Pac 12 fiasco. This years recruiting class will be well below average in both talent and numbers due to guys decommitting. In two to three years from now when this kids would have been playing, but aren't here, that could take a year or so in itself to rebound from.
Unfortunately, I feel we've got some really tough times coming for SDSU football.

Coaches are going to have to recruit even better then they have plus they are going to make the best effort to do an even better in the Transfer Portal or hope that the walk ons can show they can work hard and possibly earn scholarships
Do realize that there was more opportunities to get the better talent when there was a chance to get into the PAC -
Coaches will have to work harder as they do in other G5 programs
