im down for whatever will stop switching...this one has advertisements on it also so someone is making money off it Having advertisements is great. That means whoever "owns" it is less likely to walk away. I highly doubt anyone (except proboards) is making any money off this site. Having advertisements is just the price you have to pay when you are using a free message board that is hosted and maintained by a third party. |

I posted this in a thread on one of the boards here: Future of Aztec Talk There are some options here that I think we should consider. 1. William agrees to host us and he does that and hopefully he does for an extendended period of time (without the Cougar Blue forum colors) 2. Someone could volunteer, make a forum on proboards and like a Deist Clock Maker they create and walk-away: it would be self-regulated and people would have to use restraint and active ignoring with each other, but it also would not be at the whim of an individual3. A diverse group of people become the moderators and hosts of a board Am I missing any other options? It is getting ridiculous how we have to jump ship because someone gets sick of doing it and then scurry onto the next tent city. Aztectalk should be about aztec sports and not at the caprice of an individual - it is bigger than one person I will do this if it's what everyone wants to do. |

I suggest giving it some time to see how well Bill's board is adopted by the general Atalk community (if Bill wants us here). I think the combined format (political, Aztec Sports, Other, etc...) will have a positive effect on the contributions. But if that doesn't work out, then maybe you give it a go. Just my .02 |

I have someone looking into making a legit aztecs website with msg boards...a site where you can get everything you need.... That might be good. My objection to this one is the same as Monty's: the color. However, it isn't actually Cougar blue, more like AFA colors. (At least they aren't Wyoming-like.) |

I posted it on the Misc, forum, but to repeat it here, there is a thread on the MWC forum linking to the LV Sun about the LV Review Journal suing the UNM forum for copyright infringement along with about 5 other websites that are not fan forums. Zip did not care to get sued again, so he shut down. This is per Zip in a PM to me, so it's not speculation. =Bob |

I thinking a full site with stats, news, updates, events, scores schedules, player bios, prospoects etc...AND and attached MSG board...
I was an student and aztec fan for 8 years before i heard of aztectalk...itd be nice to have something that sticks around, people know about and is a one stop shop....

You forgot the obvious option. It is Williams board. He will do whatever he wants with it. No, that is option 1 and I noted that he agrees to host us - does anyone know if he wants the whole group here? I am pretty sure this MOD welcomes everyone. I am also pretty sure he will be on here today or tomorrow sometime with a message for everyone. I also expect about 2 or 3 boards to pop up just like the first time Aztectalk went down years ago. |
