SDSU needs a big but they also need a guard who can take over after this next season. It would make sense to bring in someone this year (redshirt) to learn the system and be ready Day 1 the following year. I expect Davis and Byrd will be our starting PG & SG the following year... but yes, we will need a few guards to compete with them (transfers) and develop (HS). But not a bad idea to get a good combo guard now who would Redshirt if Butler stays, or plug into the rotation if Butler goes. This… Davis and Byrd are going to be special

Everything was equal I would think we would land him. With NIL I don't know how good are chances are.

aren't the Texas schools the ones with the better NIL deals
UCLA and SDSU might provide easier ways for his family and friends to be able to watch him play

Maybe class attendance isn't mandatory for BB Players at Texas Tech ? Do you mean Texas A&M? I wish it would have worked out with him, I loved his sprit and "in-your-faceness". Too bad he didn't do better in class and on defense.

Zuby Ejiofor, frosh PF/C at Kansas just entered the portal. 6'9" 240 lbs, top 50-75 recruit out of TX. Could be an interesting potential addition.

If we're just spitballin' 7'o foot Trevin Dorius, GTR USU has played four years in Logan, 115 games, and 39 starts mostly last year. His averages per 40 minutes are significant. Career/per 40 minutes: 56%, 14.2PPG, 12,2 RPG, and 2.3 BPG. Assume he is in the portal as a Grad Transfer

Never even in consideration for Warren Washington. This NIL stuff has really fukced us over. The title game run has meant pretty much zilch for our recruiting, it’s all just “show me the money” now.

Recruiting isn’t over. Yes, NIL is an issue but SDSU has always recruited “diamonds in the rough” at center. Yanni and LeDee worked out pretty well. We made the national championship game with that strategy. Nothing has changed. We did land the PAC 12 6th man of the year. Don’t pass judgement on recruiting transfers until we are done.

The sixth man of the year has a sister that is attending SDSU. I'm sure this may have played into his decision. If it was strictly NIL, I'm not sure the results will be the same.

Yanni was pre NIL. If Yanni was in the portal now, SDSU would have a 50/50 shot getting him. Having Tony Bland (his HS coach) coming back also helps getting Dixon Waters. Also what Mr Perfect said about his sister being here. I’m on wait and see mode but, big men transfers are hard to get. Now, with NIL it is going to be even harder.

Will we be successful recruiting diamond-in-the-rough players going forward?
More importantly, will we be able to keep them out of the transfer portal... as NIL $$$ come calling?

Once SDSU’s in the PAC 12 the Aztec Club won’t be as important as NIL. Maybe then I will direct my money to NIL then.
