The bench has been good all year it wasn't just this last game. Also lol at the notion that they were "saved", they dominated the game throughout. The bench has been good all year and anyways probably the 2 best players in that game were starters (if not 3). This team doesn't have a malachi but has a very strong top 9, Lamont looks more and more comfortable every game, is making much better decisions than last year. Also Ledee has gotten much better as season has gone along. They had a whopping 10 turnovers. Is this a final 4 team? Almost certainly not, is it still a very good team? Yes

No it was AztecFB that turned the corner from UT. He'll be here for spring ball.

At Utah State is a huge test, but I don't see us losing. I see Arop, LeDee and Seiko playing a huge role in this game - on both ends of the court. We need to play methodically on offense in order to win, and we do so by feeding the post, and by displaying patience in the pick and roll. We need big contributions from our bench, and we have to slow it down in the half court so that we can play at a high intensity on the defensive end (and not get burned in transition, or gassed by the elevation).
Shot hunting early in the shot clock will kill us, and we will almost certainly lose if our guards do this. It will lead to early transition buckets for Utah State, less recovery time on defense, and less offensive boards. But I'm hopeful that just maybe Trammell, Butler and Bradley will play humbly and look to distribute the ball and run offense.

with Nevada beating the Lobos - enables USU to be the focal point in the MW standing
Aztecs play at USU - not exactly the Aztecs favorite place to play - with that strong fan base and the travel to another Mountain school - trust AG and Nathan have decent games
USU also plays host to Nevada
So 2 crucial home games for USU

So after last game, even though we won, we have not turned the corner. Way too inconsistent as individuals, as a team, coaching. Only constant is 2nd half woes.

We'll see how this game reverberates going forward...maybe it will unite them as a "us vs the world" mentality. I loved Trammel's tweet after the game about how he loves this team.

To be fair, winning in Logan is something SDSU has not done but only once in Dutcher's HC career. And with all the craziness in that game, maybe that wasn't the best test to determine it. But agreed. No corner turnt yet.

May have turned a corner but it was way too close and there will be a major intersection to cross when the Aztecs play AT Loboland 2/25 then At BSU ( their senior night ) on 2/28 - two road games in a very tight turn around

They look very similar to the team they've been all season. So, no, no corner's been turned. Just keep winning - even if it's only by one point - whatever it takes.

Not sure we need to "turn the corner." We can continue to get better, but we are 19-5 overall, 10-2 in conference. 4 of our 5 losses are to Quad 1 teams. Sounds to me like the results show we're doing very well. Eliminating the 2nd half stumbles would take a lot of stress out of our lives. But, I don't think things have ever been going to bad that we need to turn any corner.

I want some of this action. SDSU's final 6 (or 7) games? I count seven more... @ USU 2/8 vs UNLV 2/11 @ FRES 2/15 vs CSU 2/21 @ UNM 2/25 @ BOIS 2/28 vs WYO 3/4 I'll say the Aztecs will go 5-2 in these games. You can take the under. Loser makes a $100 donation to the Aztec Club ( or you suggest an alternate amount). And I'll match that bet saying SDSU makes it past the 2nd round of the MW tourney. ...and I'll match it again that SDSU will be an 11 seed or higher in the NCAA tourney. Correction: 4-3. My checking account. Deal! Did this ever get settled?

“Turned the corner”? No…they won one game against a team missing their best player. Good win for sure but they did lose the game right before it and they were favored in that game. I hear what you're saying, but I think with the way they played against Boise, they would have beat any team in the Conference. The question is, can they play that way consistently, and in the Conference Championship and NCAA's. We'll see. They sure can!!! And, did!!!

We have turned the corner but will head backwards if we cannot retain and attract players which required us to deliver from a NIL perspective. Coach Dutcher said it himself on stage at the Celebration. Support the MESA foundation which directly Impacts the players or expect us to turn back around. Join today! www.mesafoundationsd.org
