I agree, it's not like we are playing lock down defense this year anyway. But this guy seems to be in the same mold as Miles Heide, do we need both? I think Hiede is way more of a legit big dude and this guy is a SF/guard. I think we definitely need both Miles Heide was 6'9" 240 lbs as of October '22. He'll most likely get bigger. His dad Jason, played the 5 at Oregon State at 6'11" 260 lbs. His mom, Sissel Pierce, was a 6'4" Center, also at Oregon State, whose career FG% was over 53%. Both her parents played college basketball too. He's got BB DNA coming out of his ears. Can't wait to see him and Byrd work together on the court. Their BB instincts and backgrounds should be incredible together. Having a tall sharpshooter at the 3 would be fantastic.

Coaches should always try to get the best players they can get and then build their team
Two keys though - have high quality PG and possibly a quality SG then make sure you have a solid guy down low be it a 5 or 4
As Aztecs have learned it is not easy getting a 5 that has the ability to play with his back to the basket

That's kind of like Trammel being 5' 10" which we all know, isn't the case. LeDee is listed as 6' 9" and 240lbs. Those #s are exactly what you say of Heide. Heide does not have a LeDee body or bulk. In October, 247 listed him at 200lbs and 6' 9". Perhaps 225lbs now?

watched the Freshman Guard for St Mary's lead them to an OT win at home vs the Zags a very good guard that can shoot quite well from the outside , drive to the basket or find open team mates .
If Brady could be someone similar would be a very welcome addition for the Aztecs
Their win should solidify their Q1 status - They beat the Aztecs on Neutral court
in addition makes the Lobos win over them At St Mary's even more important

Watched Dunlap and Harvard-Westlake blow out the #1 team in CA, Centennial tonight to advance to the Open Division State Championship Game. The court was filled with high end D1 players, and he was outstanding. Hope Dutch and the staff are pushing hard for him.

I know that maybe the staff will be able to sell minutes at the 3 to a transfer with Bradley leaving, and I get that Byrd and Parrish don't have Bradley's skill set. But both are incredibly talented in their own right and I see both of them getting 15-25 minutes a game next year... so I don't really see an opening at SF next year.

If Dunlap comes to State he will play as a freshman, but you are right, Parrish will get 25 minutes per game next year as will Butler and Trammel… and that is 75 of a possible 120 minutes at the 1-3 spots… that leaves 45 minutes for 2 others at those spots…

Miles Bryd cam to SDSU as a guard that maybe could play some at the 3
IMO Brady could be more of a asset then DT - especially if BJ Davis is a good player at one of the guard positions
With both Matt and Adam leaving that means currently the best 3 point shooter is Micah - so Brady could be quite valuable or get a better shooting guard
How would you compare Brady although a HS player to Jordan S a former Aztec trying to make it in the NBA - he was primarily a catch and shoot 3 point player

Based on what they learned about him during the recruiting process I doubt SDSU will ever reach out to Dunlap. They hadn't as of a couple weeks ago. If he comes begging, maybe. Wouldn't expect to see any more HS recruits this year.

Interesting… I hadn’t heard anything about his recruitment… if State is staying out of it that makes sense

So clearly SDSU has interest.
