Well I admit, when I first saw the riot, I mean insurrection, I thought it was just a demonstration that turned into a riot. But now I know that it was a Government TAKEOVER. I mean, that is what they tell me. Thank god bull head man didn't stay in office, who knows what he would have done.
I mean, it was like 9/11, but worse.
And it's not just the orange man that is bad, the whole GOP is a threat to democracy, we should go to a one party system. Mitt Romney you say, President Joe knows that he was just trying to keep people in chains!
Now there is this guy from Florida, but he is a fascist too. He even made business's stay open during a pandemic! He was trying to kill everyone!!!
No, we have to get rid of them all...to save democracy...

Republicans are writing up laws in multiple states to allow them to overturn elections if they just suspect fraud - and you don't care. Republicans excuse, and some even support, the insurrection on January 6th that turned our country into what Trump would call a Third World Shithole. Never before have we had people try to attack the Capitol, stop the certification of a Presidential Election, and (many of them) have a goal of killing elected officials. And you don't care. This is unprecedented stuff. This is how a fascist state is born. And you don't care. That's pathetic. You just mock the whole situation. I was a registered Republican for 35 years, but this was beyond my limit to accept and excuse. Party before country is completely unacceptable to me. Trump makes Nixon look like an honest, ethical President. That's just a fact. And yet you mock the situation. Have you lost your ability to be an American first, and a Republican second? You have? OK, here's some of Biden's statements thaat show he's only talking about extremists, not every Republican. Hell, he goes so far as to say that a MAJORITY of Republicans are OK.
So why are people mischaracterizing what he said? Because he told the truth. He called a spade a spade. He didn't mince words.
I'm no fan of Biden, but he's correct in his assessment of the modern Republican Party. The rational, reasonable Republicans are running scared. Intimidated by Trump and his followers. The inmates are running the asylum.

He even sites the pseudo Riechstag Fire as if an immediate threat and justification for the hatred of nearly half of our electorate. The sweeping negative generalizations based on nothing but hatred is unambiguous. Describing his statements and actions as Banana Republic-esque is being kind. He is coordinating on censorship, having federal law enforcement go after his political opponent, he is spewing hatred toward millions without justification, funding 87,000 new-age brown shirts, acting in complete lawlessness (in his Constitutional responsibilities at the Southern border for one).
