I have played vr games on oculus rift and was not impressed. The tech was fluid but the graphics were underwhelming.

OMG. Okay, here's the deal... I'm a machine of often bad throw away one liners. On this board, on all boards, including my home board. I wasn't calling any posters stoners -- much less the group. I'm not pure of heart and soul. And my wife doesn't kick my butt, ever. That anybody would take that post as a serious accusation that SDSU posters are stoners is mind boggling. Unbelievable... Surprised to say this, but yoda, I'm with you on this one....I don't take anything you post seriously. |

I can't wait for what comes for computer graphics in the next 10-20 years. I believe Facebook's VR Oculus Rift requires a computer hooked up to a GPU (Graphic Processor Unit) to run, right? I think for VR games to capture audience, it has to bring its visuals up to much higher standards. However, I am hopefully, one day, before I go, I can experience VR with graphics like: Turn YouTube quality setting to 1080P 60 frames per sec, in the settings options |

VR is great, if you like lower graphics resolution, headaches from wearing the headset and nausea. I returned mine in less than a month. There was one VR only game I really wanted to try. The game wasn't any better in VR than the non VR games in the same series, just less enjoyable for the reasons mentioned earlier in this post. |

What I've heard is that the Big 12 isn't interested in Utah or San Diego State. They already have a presence in the relatively small state of Utah and BYU doesn't want them. As for SDSU, you never showed any serious interest until it began to look like the PAC was tenuous, there were never any serious discussions (perhaps until recently), your AD pissed them off with his attempt to parlay the Big 12 option into a full TV payout from the PAC, and there is no offer (conditional or otherwise). Obviously that is completely at odds with what you are hearing. I'm not surprised that Colorado hasn't been offered as I think that they are a back up option. Our TV ratings are almost double theirs (of course that is pre-Prime) and there is a concern that Prime could leave quickly -- when the big money comes calling. My understanding is that the Big 12's interest is in 1) ASU 2) Fresno State & 3) Arizona. The fourth is tbd -- it could be Colorado. It could be UConn and, if the PAC doesn't expand, I think it could be you. It makes too much sense to let a grudge keep them out of SoCal and, obviously, your basketball success is appealing to a conference that wants to dominate in that sport. For all the good news, the Colorado chancellor seemed to say that expansion -- or at least a full share of the TV revenue -- depended on the TV contract. "A big issue, he said, would be whether those schools would bring enough revenue and other benefits to the league to justify their getting an equal cut of the revenue pie.... He said expansion depends on the new media deal, which is “getting close,” he said." To me, it sounds increasingly like the conference will hold together and add you... That would be awesome for you. Lol dude you should get into writing romance novels after the expansion round ends. You'll have plenty of time while waiting for CUSA games to end before joining the Fresno-UTEP conference tilt already in progress. |

Fresno St is trying to build up them going to the B12 so they can pass a spending bill to improve their athletic facilities. Fresno is going nowhere unless it is with us in a scenario where the PAC stays together and doesn't expand. The possibility of that happening in almost negligible. That's the kind of crap that is false but becomes urban legend real quick when spread over the internet. We will know our lot in the expansion game within the next 30 to, at most, 90 days. The election will be next June and they won't even begin collecting petition signatures until March. So the issue will have long since been decided before they even begin to collect signatures, nevermind vote on the matter. There is absolutely no connection between talk of us going to the Big 12 and that ballot issue. Nerve hit |

The game wasn't any better in VR than the non VR games in the same series, just less enjoyable for the reasons mentioned earlier in this post. They gave us free headsets at my previous job, and I probably only played one game (Beat Saber) for a total of 10 hours. The tech is promising, but it's not there yet from both a software and hardware perspective. But I think augmented reality (think Star Wars style holograms, or a Google Maps GPS inside your glasses) will be the next big thing, not VR. |
