I know we have a transfer thread but this is different as he committed. Put up good numbers at Seattle seems like a big get and our starting PG.

I get visions of Terrell Gomez from him. At least he’s 2 inches taller…but still on the small side. Both were low-major high scoring volume shooters. Hopefully he plays decent defense.

He's got good stats, can facilitate and defend. Only 'knock' is that he's on the shorter side, but he can shoot the three and make FTs too.

Adding an experienced PG was a necessity

Plus he'll be coming in with JayDee Luster as an assistant coach...who was an undersized guard that was an absolute beast when it came to steals and assists...

Devon Watson with a better attitude I hope? This is a significant upgrade for us I feel, him and a Bradley is a strong backcourt.

Hmmm.
34% from behind the arc? Meh. Trey Pulliam was at 33%, so not much of an upgrade there.
I do like the 82% FT shooting. And his defense, of course.
But if we're going to go with a 5'-10" PG, we're going to have to find a 6'5" 2G dead-eye shooter to complement.

I am not one to knock height because you can't measure the heart of a lion/champion. However, I feel we need bigger guards to compete in the NCAA tournament. The schools seem to shoot right over the guards on the shorter side. I thought we had learned our lesson but I guess we will have a second opportunity to find out. I really hope this young man comes in and crushes it but I am a little concerned.
I trust Dutch and the staff and don't typically question these types of things. However, unless he is the second coming of Kemba Walker, I can't remember the last guard under 6' tall to have a stand out season. I know they are probably out there but I can't think of one off the top of my head.

How many years of eligibility? Looks like he played one year of JUCO ball and two years at Seattle.

Thinking this too, but he has an Conference All-Defense award so I trust his defensive skills. He would've led our team in PPG, Assists & Steals this season, but I wonder just how much his numbers will drop this upcoming season due to playing against higher quality teams.

Talented kid but had an attitude that I feel (and heard from those in the know) that held him and our team back at times. I like this pick up for us, we need a guy that can run a team and make others better. He’s proven that in his college career so far, and hoping he’ll flourish with some better players around him.

He’s a much better shooter than Pulliam, you can’t just look at %s. Pulliam only shot 3s when wide open. Trammell takes off the dribble threes and creates space with his handle.

Cons: Size 5'10" (we know how exaggerated listed heights can sometimes be- I worry that he could even be under this) Assist/TO ratio 1.70 (ranked 177th out of 350 D1 guards)(Pulliam was 226th @ 1.56) FG% 40% overall 34.4% from 3 (not great and takes 5.2 threes a game) Pros: Steals 2.52/game (tied for 4th in D1 out of 351 players) (Butler had 1.7 steals/game with 2.5 fouls/game) Fouls 2.2/game (good considering his steal numbers) FT% 82.1% (after last year, that might make up for everything else) Teams with guards without great handles will hate to play our backcourt.

Just the same, I hope he helps propel this team to even more victories, especially in March.

youtu.be/iXVkP8iTlA0I can see him starting over Butler next year. His ability to drive to the basket, jump stop, then shoot a mid-range jumper is a big difference I see in his game. How many times did we see Butler drive uncontrollably to the hoop only to get called for a charge or get swatted?
