UTEP transfer Souley Boum and SDSU recruit committed to Xavier. The 6’3” 165 lb. GTR averaged 19.8 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.9 assists, and 1.8 steals per game while shooting 41% from the field, and 37% from 3. Aztecs still looking for a wing sharpshooter. Another option falls off the board.

If you have a chance, take a look & listen to AztecBreakdown provide updated information on possible Aztec transfers. Today's analysis includes Oakland transfer Micah Parrish, who statistically fits our needs. The eye test does too.

As Coug and others reported Parrish has some ties to MSU and he has also visited West Virginia
Frankie Collins - Mkchigan was a reserve PG - is from Nevada ( so wonder if Reno or UNLV are already trying to get him to visit) , did not play a large amount of minutes but has 3 years to still play - is a 6'1" 4 star PG that the Wolverines had hoped could be their PG starting this season
Aztec coaches keep trying but some guys are looking at schools that definitely have the opening to start this 2022 - 2023 season

Rudi Williams is canceling visits. Rumors swirling that he could be committing to SDSU soon.

Williams...45% from the 3 and decent size at 6'2"-6'3".

Would we rather have him or Lucas? Rudi is more of a playmaker and our offense desperately needs guys like that.

Rudi Williams is canceling visits. Rumors swirling that he could be committing to SDSU soon. Hopefully that's true, and hopefully it's us over BYU since I believe those were his last 2 visits. It would be an impressive coup if we land him, given the amount of talent on this team & no guaranteed minutes. And I'd give Trammell kudos for recruiting him as well.

He's 6'3" with 44.7% at 3's and 73.5% FTs. He also had 1.45 steals a game. It would be exhausting for guards to play against him, DT and Lamont and try to control their dribble/passes. (5.67 steals a game among the three of them)

The three guards, Change that, the four guards could really go after the other teams guards and still be okay with fouls to give. There are going to be some picking of pockets going on. This just made all of the guards including Butler and Seiko better. If they buy into the team game this is going to be a lot of fun. If one ends up being a ball hog, I see a player or two sitting. Think of the way we played with Flynn, the ball found the open man sometimes it was the fourth pass. Share the ball and get an open look. Lots of rotation choices. The five spot really becomes more important now. The more things change the more they are the same. I am sure we will hear repetitively can he play the 5?

BYU boards are also thinking that Rudi is a very good possibility for them also especially since they had both guards graduate last season . They have a lot of PT to be able to offer him .
In addition he stayed an extra day there on his visit there . Felt the coaches were quite genuine with him .

D Johnson was 6'10" and 210 when he got here to redshirt last year. I'd be surprised if he's not at least 220-225 or more this year.
It's hard to get a quick-twitched big guy like the ones the BIG10 and SEC roll out every year. And if they're more big than quick, they have a hard time switching in our defense.
Our team last year was more than good enough to win a MM game. They and a few questionable coaching decisions just collectively choked it way.

Yeah, I'll take a guy like Mensah over Armus every day of the week - for our defense especially.

And that may be it Gents, it looks like we are done. Nate should announce that he is coming back in the next couple of weeks. Then on to 2022-2023 as the MW favorite, Maui, and into the Madness again.
