When we play Fresno - it may not be that far of a game for the Fresno fans to come watch the game and we have Not been able to fill the stands. Fresneck always travels, so I'm guessing they will outnumber us in typical Charger fashion. I'll be there. But since it is easier access for the bulldorks, I'm planning on plenty of fog and pee bombs. And walking with an oil can.

Whoa. That's really saying something. I watch it in horror. Arguably, in Andy Trakus and Peter Holt, SDSU had two of the best placekickers on the west coast. Both were Lou Grossa nominees. But when everything was on the line, they would shank it. Holt’s kick in this game was yanked so far left it disappeared from the television screen. So glad my mother decided to never raise a placekicker. But, you know the really interesting thing about Trakas & Holt? Even though they were not the most accurate on FG's, especially clutch kicks, they are both ranked in the record book as good PAT kickers. Trakas is No. 1 in career PAT's with 170, and Peter Holt is ranked No. 2 on career PAT's with 158. In fact, Trakas went two years without missing a PAT. In 1990 he went 53-53, and in 1992 he made 39-39 (which means he kicked them all when playing that year with Marshall Faulk. Peter Holt also made all his PAT's in 1994 with 32 of 32.

Did you know that Trakas and Hunkie Cooper played on the same Arena League team back in the day? True story. Arizona in the mid 90s.

You must really enjoy losing and remembering losses! The two losses to Cal Poly and the blowout vs. New Mexico (7-70 in 2008) all happened during Chuck Long's leadership (2006-2008). And, the loss to Eastern Illinois we faced a very good QB who headed to the NFL. Don't recall which UNLV loss you are referring too, but it doesn't matter. Under Rocky we never had a losing season, so not many coaches can claim that after being a head coach for 9 seasons. The Unlv loss in 1996 was Ted Tollnered. We were headed for the Holiday Bowl. All we had to do was win against the 111th-rated (last in D1 at the time) team, to cap off one of the best Aztec seasons. Of course, The Aztecs played perhaps the worst game in their history, and PK Peter Holt missed a chip shot fg to end the game, and our season. IMHO, the single worst defeat in Modern Aztec athletic annals. I was at that game. Up until the missed kick, there was no doubt we'd watch the Aztecs in the Holiday Bowl. It was somber AF afterwards.

We don't want to get "South Alabama'd" Oldie Out Coach Hoke at his weekly news conference did mention that this week's game with Towson would be the the toughest game for his coaches to get the team ready to play. He stated that this season more FCS teams have beaten more FBS than any season to date, and he wants to make sure it doesn't happen to his team. Also, the Aztecs have yet to play a complete 4 quarter game, and he wants improvement there. So, I'm sure he is making his team realize that this Saturday's game is just as important as the last two have been. Eastern Ill. or So. Alabama isn't going to happen this time. It's tough to play for 4 quarters when the coaching staff shuts it down once they get comfortable.

Maybe, but since our run game is so good wouldn't you want to favor that in order to keep it away from Utah? Plus, Utah started to play better "D" in the
fourth quarter (finally), so that was a good part of it.

San Jose seems to be in a little trouble at halftime. Losing 3-20.

So far, so good. SDSU and Boise with easy wins, Fresno survived an upset bid and Air Force is off to a good start. That keeps the top teams moving forward.
Wyoming survived a potential choke job and Hawaii is ahead early.
Give CSU credit for giving Iowa a tussle on the road. Really, the only black mark this week is San Jose State getting wiped out at Western Michigan. I'm hearing the SJSU QB suffered a shoulder injury in the game.

I fear Fresno will roll us. As per the usual.

I fear Fresno will roll us. As per the usual. I believe most of the coaches would disagree with you opinion vehemently because they are doing what this team does best and that is run the ball. Besides, we won the last meeting with Fresno in 2019, and over the last four times we have met the record is 2-2. So, they haven't exactly run us over as you seem to think. It is just a close and tough Rivalry that's all.
