I think Pulliam finally got some confidence in the last few weeks of last season. I'm excited to see the whole backcourt this year.

Concur. Not sure that we have a blockbuster POY candidate a la Kawhi or Jamal or Xavier or Malachi (maybe Bradley has a shot), but we definitely have some serious depth. We'll be able to rotate guys in and out, depending on the situations and match-ups. We also have a great mix of experience and youth. Gonna be fun to watch. Conference or national? Matt was POY last year & Bradley's a better player, so there's that. Yes, I was thinking just conference. Forgot about Matt being POY last year. Brain fog even though I've had neither a concussion or COVID. Having said that, I'd rate Kawhi/Jamal/X/Malachi as a substantial step above Matt M. If Bradley can be that guy, we'll be formidable. And, BTW, thanks for your breakdown. Impressive and accurate, IMO.

I will say this - Bradley's a better player coming out of the P12 than Mal was at the time. Mal had a year to develop, learn the system & become that All-American, but Matt was a better P12 player. Don't know if Matt lifts his game the way Mal does, but it wouldn't surprise me. I've seen him do at Cal what Mal did for us, and I have a funny feeling a lot of people will be comparing their games. All 3 have a lot of "dog" in them. : )

No one's mentioned Jaedon LeDee from TCU and Ohio State. Big guy with a career high 20 points at West Virginia.

Believe J LD being a second time transfer will Red Shirt also - unless he gets a waiver to play - he would be a major addition but not sure that happens
Think all agree that Nathan , Trey and Matt B will be starters . Matt B will start at the 2 or 3 depending on who emerges between Adam , KD or Chad as another starter - Do think as mentioned that Adam knows both the offense and defense plus is a great team leader , may have advantage at the beginning of the practice sessions ( also played in a competitive T abroad ) . KD is probably the best plain shooter if the coaches think Offense is key - he also showed good development at Swish - the go to player for his team and ran their offense - question here is defense ? If either Adam or KD get the starting position that moves Matt B to the 3 position . Assessment of Matt B is right on - has had to play against very good competition in the PAC - and can do a little or a lot as needed in all aspects of the game . If Brad is better then the 2 guards - Adam or KD then Matt B plays the 2 . So Brad and KJ very likely are at the 3 and 4 . or if defense is needed then a Healthy ? AG gets added into the mix . Size then you add Joshua into the mix
Numerous players that can play a variety of positions . Key of course how they play together as a Unit on Offense , Defense , rebounding and taking care of the basketball . Also taking care of the basketball
Practice could be very entertaining battling for PT

1. Pulliam/Butler/Seiko 2. Butler/Bradley/Baker 3. Bradley/Baker/KJ 4. Arop/KJ/Diabate 5. Mensah/Tomaic/Diabate A few things: * This team is super deep. * Pulliam needs to take that half-step up and become an elite PG. * Butler's going to get a lot of playing time at the 1 and 2. * Seiko got a ton of summer experience playing for the Ugandan National Team in the FIBA AfroBasket 2021 Tournament in Rwanda in August. His team made it to the quarterfinals, with Seiko averaging 13 ppg. He was 47% from behind the arc and shot 100% on his FTs. * Bradley is going to be on the floor 90% of the time at either the 2 or the 3. * Baker is going to fill the role of Schakel. He shot 42% from behind the arc last year. * KJ is going to need to shoot better and have a better grasp of the flow of the game. If he does, he could be a force at the 3/4. If not, well, he'll be a good spark of the bench. * If Arop can stay healthy, he could make a huge contribution to this team. He's a nightmare for other teams on defense. And Dutcher loves defense. He can also provide spark on offense with his slashing style and athleticism. * Diabate will give us some size, skill and athleticism at the 4/5. * Mensah needs to put it all together this year and become a dominant big man on both ends of the court. I don't know. A starting lineup of Pulliam, Arop and Mensah doesn't provide many scoring options and allows teams to double Bradley... Arop, when healthy, gives you a high energy guy who rebounds on offense. He is also a very good defender. I'm am hoping he can finally have a season where he comes through healthy.
