It looked like the defense got tired, lots of missed arm tackles, esp on that slippery backup QB. Can't imagine he won't be the starter going forward. I didn't like the run-heavy offense but part of it was field position, and we'd had some good runs. Just think the coaches were more confident in the ground game. With McMorris and Hawkins out, we had to play a softer look and subs didn’t tackle as well.

The 15 yard targeting penalty against McMorris also helped get the Utes "off the hook" and led to a field goal. And our TD

Phil Steele thinks pretty highly of Utah this year. Picked to finish second in the South Division of the PAC with a good defense. We did well to win but we simply must have a better passing game. Lack of passing yards is going to kill us. Utah is arguably the best coached team in the P12. Very consistent and rarely beats themselves. This was definitely a quality win and will hold up.

From what I saw we just played more of a passive zone during their 1st TD drive but played press coverage and were much more aggressive during the 2nd and OT. Sometimes you just have to tip your cap and their backup QB played lights out.

With this win I think our attendance will gradually increase, but after the Towson State game. I can see about 10K+ for the New Mexico game. I'm sure the fans will be curious to see how Rocky's UNM defense has progressed. it still will be played in LA, so I’m not sure why it would increase noticeably. SDsu Being 4-0 helps.

Currently watching the Fresno State vs UCLA game on the Pac 12 network. Watching the scores scrolling at the bottom of the screen, and they have shown every Pac 12 score EXCEPT for the SDSU vs Utah score. Not once have they shown the final score from the SDSU vs Utah game. They are showing the score from every Pac 12 game EXCEPT the SDSU vs. Utah game. Why is that? It could be due to the fact that the Aztec/Utah game was being televised by CBSSN and not PAC 12 network. Otherwise who knows?

My wife and I did go to the game, and it was an exciting game to watch for sure. Even though the Aztecs were up 24-10 starting the fourth quarter I somehow I had a feeling that Utah was not giving up completely just yet. Their fans were still in the stadium and , not that many had left compared to the Aztec fans. Then just like a P5 team usually does they started to put it together late in the fourth, because they don't give up easily. They come down the field and score a TD (believe it or not it was the offense's first TD in the game). They miss the PAT , so it is 24-16. Then they stop our offense and force a punt. Once again they come down the field with short completions and score again. This time they go for 2 on the PAT and make it and we have a tied game, 24-24. The Utah crowd is going crazy and yelling to the top of their lungs! Clock runs out and we have a tie at the end of regulation (24-24). That means OT and no one still in the stadium is going home now. First OT we both score a TD and PAT, 31-31. Second OT neither team is able to win the game with a FG. Their kicker is bad and misses to the right. Araiza is good, but for some unknown reason he misses to the right, so we go to the third OT. WE score on our special trick play and lead 33-31. Utah, tries a pass to a WR to the far left and, the refs signals score. It was low and did hit the ground as he caught it. Instant replay was checked, and the head ref comes out to signal that the play call was changed and the play was considered an incomplete pass. AZTECS WIN!!!!! 33-31
