How many of those 31 pitchers you write of are actually any good? Quantity ≠ Quality But I'm pretty sure you know that already. A championship caliber team isn't going to rely on prospects to right the ship, especially coming off a season where there were no minor league games to be had. A championship caliber team that traded for four top 30 pitchers even more so. Replacing nearly 2,000 days on the injured list isn't particularly easy and a large chunk of the options are shelved with longer-term injuries. Baseball isn't a factory.

Baseball may not be, but the Dodgers organization sure is. It's easy to always have prospects waiting for an opportunity with their payroll.

They are doing multiple bullpen games a week and they've used more pitchers than the Padres have. Of course when salary is inconsequential and teams will just offload assets for cheap, life's pretty easy.

Anyone know what Tingler and Preller's contracts look like? I think Tingler is signed through 2022 with an option for /23 and Preller newly signed through 2026.

so, why wasn't the hitting coach fired. he wasn't doing any better than the pitching coach, maybe even worse. one semi-starter around .300, Manny and Tatis suckers for the low outside pitch, strike outs and double plays with runners in scoring position. bases loaded, no outs predict a strike out and double play and you'll be right more times than not. oh well, there's always nextyearnextyearnextyear nextyearnextnext.............................................years.

Yeah, I mean the hitters have underperformed. So much of it is between the ears with this group. It's not mechanical. I would like to see better situational hitting, and more consistency out of this group. I'm not sure that firing the hitting coach mid season would have helped when the team was shell-shocked and in freefall mode. --- The pitching strategy employed by Larry was bad. That's why he got the axe. Too many low and middle fastballs, too many elevated breaking balls (to simplify it). The fact that our pitching got worse after he left was due to all of the injuries.
