“Worst players in baseball”? Boy now, that’s reach even for you!! He does not like Hosmer, personally. It's VERY evident. Agree with you

I don't like Eric Hosmer, yes. That doesn't mean that objective conclusions cannot be reached when you look at data.

He's very juvenile with a lot of the engagement from fans, very thin-skinned. Although he's not as bad as Barry Bloom... He comes off as a holier than thou, entitled writer who continually writes fluff pieces as a mouthpiece for the Padres. He was awful when he covered the Chargers and worse now. His clubhouse source is all about "prestige value" so the readers get inundated with how great Hosmer is on the regular, even though he's one of the worst players in baseball. I believe he's written a half dozen articles on Hosmer this season alone. “Worst players in baseball”? Boy now, that’s reach even for you!! Also, it's weird that this is the one sentence you took from an entire paragraph discussing Kevin Acee. Seems...odd. Another thing on Acee: He's consistently wrong with what he reports, or extremely late with information frequently. Kind of a taboo thing in the industry.

Back to business, Tatis is activated and in today's lineup…leading off and playing RF.

I don’t think anyone in here has ever even that.

I was wrong on Jake Cronenworth, I was WAY wrong on Wil Myers in 2021, I was wrong on Blake Snell, which really sucks. I'm not wrong on Eric Hosmer, though. Again, if you're going to go after people with personal attacks, show me something to back up your argument. Otherwise, it's just noise. I showed you proof I'm not making stuff up. Nor would I ever for the sake of AM.

How about when I mentioned the Padres were considering putting Tatis on his return from the DL. And you first comment was “ says who?” I ‘m not resorting to any personal attacks, ok, leave that alone!

At the time, the team was still very much undecided on whether he would play the outfield. He regularly does outfield work. It wasn't an earthshattering reveal, at the time. I was wrong though. Congrats.

Ignoring that, I really believe that the team is in desperation mode and that is precipitating this.

If they win today, will it all be because of Tatis, Jr's. return?
The pregame pix from the dugout speak volumes … even if he does nothing else today, he's already revitalized the team - emotionally, anyway.

He must have been sweating bullets typing that confessional.

Things you'd never say to someone in real life....yay for the anonymity of the Internet. If anyone, and I mean anyone is under the impression that people's opinions on the Internet are bulletproof, reevaluate your life. Also, why in the world would you care so much? I could understand if you were providing *actual* news, but you're not.

How's that for integrity that you question? On the other hand, your condescending, belittling, know it all ways, lack a HUGE amount of integrity.

I guarantee you would not because your cowardly responses not even directed to me, but at me, reflect more on your character than anything else I could possibly write. If I offended Azteca or anyone else, with trying to provide answers, I'm sorry for the lack of substance. An apology wasn't good enough, which means it's obviously more personal. It shouldn't be. Have a good Sunday.

You would only come back with a half hearted apology and say this is tame amongst other boards. So, you're ABSOLUTELY wrong Ryan, that I wouldn't confront you, or anyone else on this. If you're only going to believe one thing I say on here, believe that.

You're making yourself look worse by the minute. Not my concern, really. You're one of the more reasonable posters here, and I'm a fan. But this isn't the argument to choose. I'm at a loss for what would compel anyone to make a defense on this subject. There's no logical or statistical argument that's genuine. The pure and simple matter is that the Padres would be a much better team with Cronenworth at first, Kim at shortstop and Tatis...wherever he really wants to play, I guess. That's what I care about. For the folks who seem to think this is just an anti-Hosmer diatribe, it isn't. I have no vendetta or agenda against a player...and never will. Most importantly, they won!
