And in case there was any doubt who the MVP in the NL should be, yesterday should have cleared that up. #ForTheLoveOfGodPleaseStayHealthyWithout looking it up (since I am just too lazy to do that), what's the record for fewest games played by a position player and winning the MVP? Fewest in a 162 game slate would be George Brett in 1980. 117.

LOL, I cut/pasted your question into Google and found it in 5 seconds: Fewest by any position player: 102, Mike Schmidt, 1981 NL, but that was a strike year. Fewest in a non-strike year: 116, Gabby Hartnett, 1935 NL Fewest on a 162-game schedule: 117, George Brett, 1980 AL https://www.reddit.com/r/baseball/comments/2b2wqc/what_mvp_played_the_fewest_games_that_season/

He needs to get a lot of plate appearances piled up so he qualifies for the batting title. Right now he's about 9 Plate appearances behind. It's amazing that after missing 32 games, in the NL, he's still 1st HRs 1st SBs 7th RBI 8th BA
Incredible!!!!
