Chris Bunch, the four-star 6'7" 195 pound small forward from De La Salle CA, has taken official visits to Syracuse and Rutgers in July but still hopes to take more visits, he will play at Wasatch Academy in Mount Pleasant, Utah for his Senior year. Many services have him leaning towards Syracuse

Trimmed his list to Washington, Rutgers and Syracuse. Wonder what this means for Koren Johnson and the Aztecs!

Trimmed his list to Washington, Rutgers and Syracuse. Wonder what this means for Koren Johnson and the Aztecs! I checked with the source that told me 100% a few weeks back… still says it is going to happen… I’m pretty confident Koren will be an Aztec.

Playing zone defense your entire collegiate career does nothing to develop him to play man to man in the nba...

I believe that every pro team would prefer that their rookie players arrive well schooled in man to man defense, rather than be equally good as zone defenders.

as mentioned when you play with the Orange you do know that defense is a focal point - So doubt that an NBA team will reject a player that has competed with them . Does not matter the style of defense you play is that important as it is that you come from a school that does find defense important and that you play it .

Plus, some teams play a form of zone D in the NBA (look at Miami).

IMO he is going to choose to play at Syracuse. Based on all I've read, it sounds like that's the landing spot. Not sure if SDSU was even on the short list, but offered. www.syracuse.com/orangebasketball/2021/10/class-of-22-recruit-chris-bunch-trims-list-to-3-schools-did-syracuse-make-the-cut.html"....Bunch recently visited the Syracuse campus. He and his family were on campus for the weekend of Sept. 24-25. It was the second visit to Syracuse for Bunch, who also toured the campus last June. He had visited Washington the previous weekend. He took a visit to Rutgers this past June. In narrowing his choices down to three schools, Bunch eliminated Creighton, Iowa State, Arkansas and Alabama. He is considered an elite shooter with a lot of bounce as well. He can stretch the floor and take advantage of gaps in the defense to get to the paint. Bunch’s visit to Syracuse came on the same weekend as that of Peter Carey, a 6-foot-11 senior center from Northfield Mount Hermon School in Gill, Massachusetts. Carey committed to Syracuse last week..."

On Tuesday night, 2022 recruit Chris Bunch trimmed his final list to three schools: Syracuse, Rutgers and Washington. Bunch visited the Syracuse campus in late June and Rutgers in early July. Washington offered him in August and he visited the campus in September. More recently, Bunch attended the Syracuse football team’s win over Liberty in the Carrier Dome. Syracuse’s 2022 class includes commitments from Justin Taylor, Quadir Copeland and Peter Carey. Syracuse previously had commitments from Dior Johnson and Kamari Lands in the 2022 cycle. Both recruits have since decommitted from SU. In the same class, 6-foot-9 forward Maliq Brown visited SU last weekend. The Orange also remain in the running for combo guard JJ Starling in the 2022 class. Starling will make a college decision this month.

I believe Taylor is a very similar player, plus Benny Williams plays the same "3" (& 4) position as well & he's a 5* FR on their squad. UW offers him the same style, but a much easier path to PT. One Syracuse kid I'm following & will be curious to see where he's playing in '23 is Frank Anselem, the big kid I thought we had a really good shot of landing a year or two ago. It's possible he could end up being pushed out.

His recruitment had no impact on Koren Johnson who committed today to the AZTECS.

I did not realize Frank Anselem might look to transfer. If he became available this could fit perfectly with 2022. Yes he plays the five. .
