I'm sure this will be an unpopular opinion, but while Kawhi is a GREAT player & has been outstanding in the playoffs, IMO Julius Randle deserved the 1st team nod over him this year. 52 games played vs. 71; same scoring; better rebounding & assists. What Randle did for the NYK's was incredibly special, even if they fell flat in the playoffs.

What Randle did for the NYK's was incredibly special, even if they fell flat in the playoffs. I'm sure you saw Randle play a lot more than I, but is his defense even remotely equivalent to Kawhi's? I think that's what usually gives Kawhi the nod on these all-league teams - though I'm sure Kawhi's "load management" needs also understandably holds him back in some eyes.
