Why would it be Trey or Boogie? They play different positions, and could actually compliment each other very well. The question about bringing in a Boogie or Baker is more how Seiko & Dinwiddie react than having anything to do with Trey. If we land either, the combination of Trey w/ Boogie/Baker & having Seiko & more experienced Butler & Dinwiddie behind them will be a major upgrade over Trey/Gomez & that trio. Definitely not Trey vs. Boogie. Trey is the starting point guard on our team regardless of who we land. Butler is a better PG then Boogie, who is more of a 2 then a 1. So really you are looking at Dinwiddie, Boogie, and Seiko competing for minutes at the 2 (and maybe Butler as well, since Butler might play a little bit at the 2). Minutes wise it might be Trey 25, Butler 15, Dinwiddie 20, Seiko 20 as things stand right now (assuming Trey comes back). You have to think that Boogie's minutes would come out of Dinwiddie or Seiko's minutes. I’m confused... If Boogie comes to State, he will be the best defensive guard we have and a better offensive weapon than Seiko. He would be a way better defender than Dinnwiddie. You have 80 minutes at the guard spots, maybe 90 or 95 if you plays some three guard... I would expect Trey, Butler and Boogie to all get 20 to 25 minutes leaving between 5 and 35 minutes available... Since Boogie is a like for like replacement of Adam and a terrific defender amd a better shooter, I don’t see how AS gets many minutes in this scenario... I would expect KD to get the minutes and for AS to go into the portal.

A backcourt combination of Trey, Boogie & Adam - all 6'3-6'4-ish, would be very effective, teamed with a Keshad & Nate, with AG, Butler, Evans, Dinwiddie, Tomiac/new back-up, etc. in the wings. If Baker, just switch him for Boogie. I would expect Dinwiddie to get minutes similar to Keshad this year - not necessarily 20 per game - closer to 12-15, but to ease into his future role which would be stepping in for Seiko in '22. Whether Adam, Keith and/or Che are pleased with those roles is TBD, but they all should move up & be in the rotation. Hopefully that's enough.

Previous top 5: Duke, Memphis, UNC, USC and of course SDSU. Not sure if he ever fulfilled his potential as a floor leader and shooter, but clearly his head and confidence didn't suffer. maybe he's trying to play for all of them? LOL :-)

OK, seeing on my FB page he committed to SDSU. April fools joke?
Edited: It appears this was just a stupid 4/1 post.

I think Butler is 20-25 min easy Not sure Dinwiddie gets 20, I’m thinking 15-20 ... but if he can play great D and can really stroke it with high volume, he could stretch beyond 20 ... but he’s going to have to be a revelation on both ends to get a consistent 20+. Dutch will definitely give Seiko a consistent 20. I think we could see some 3 guard line ups next year. Finally... do we know for sure yet that Trey is coming back? I’ve been away for a couple of days so catching up now

I kind of miss my seat mates at the games even if they are almost too old to stand up anymore when we cheer. Probably going to be some changing of the guard in the next 5-7 years as some of us are getting old and some of you are getting really old. 😂

I actually think it will be hard for him to get 20 minutes next year.

www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/player/gamelog/_/id/4593106/boogie-ellisI think people dont realize that boogie is not as good as we think he is. He played in the aac which is similair to the mwc. Check out his splits. Doesnt get the line alot and majority of his shots are 3 pointers. Would I take him? Absutetly. Do I think he is the savior? No. I would even be worried if he could replace what schakel gave us. Boogie is a better on ball defender than Seiko, a very good shooter, just off of Gomez and a way, way better handler of the ball than anyone we have at State. Totally agree. I just dont see him coming here but its a loss that can be overcome by someone else.

I think that Dinwiddie's skill set is very similar to Gomez's and that why he didn't get minutes last year. If Gomez were not here last year he would have played significant minutes as a freshmen imo

Crickets on Boogie. However, I favor Matt Bradley and Timmy Allen who want to win. Baker and Boogie in the same boat 3 schools 3 years, Truck stop guys.

If the coaching staff wants Boogie, I want Boogie

I'm sure all these guys are waiting to see how things gel with each team. I doubt Boogie is just going to jump into a situation without knowing what the other pieces are going to be. And I'm sure the coaches are aware of this and have an idea of how they want the team to form. Lots of moving parts. I'm guessing that Dutch & Co. will be going back to Boogie and his peeps and gauging their excitement about the prospect of bringing in Big Man A, Shooter B, etc., and if/how Boogie might fit. Additionally, the other four teams on Boogie's list are likely doing the same. Lots of permutations and possibilities. Stay tuned.

Boogie's only played at 1 school thus far, so this will be his second. He decommitted from Duke when Jones pulled out of the NBA draft, which is understandable. Baker has actually played at 2, seeking his 3rd, but with the issues at UA who can blame him. If any of those 4 say "yes" I'll be happy, but if it's Allen IMO we're going to need a perimeter player as well. Having all except Allen be from around here has to be an advantage, even if slight.

No doubt, any & all will contribute immediately. Being shut out on all (4) would be a huge disappointment this year. Colorado State and Nevada will compete next year, Boise like us loses pieces, USU will be a huge rebuild as will UNLV.

Colorado State and Nevada will compete next year, Boise like us loses pieces, USU will be a huge rebuild as will UNLV. Boise, like us, will be fine. A key for them is what Kigab does? If he comes back as a Super Senior they're in the great shape, much like with Trey & Josh for us. As of now they have Akot, Armus, Shaver, Rice, Milner & Doutrive, which is a solid core. Believe they also have a 6'5 transfer from last year as well. USU is interesting. They have a solid core - Bean, Anthony, Miller (all starters) + Ashworth who played a lot, and Bairstow & Dorius who aren't bad either. But no replacing a Queta. UNLV has Blake, Coleman (returning from injury) & Wood, plus the 4 B12 pieces. They need size unless Diong goes the Super Senior route, although Hamm's 6'8. I don't think they're rebuild will be that long.

Dude really doesn’t want to ever come to SDSU. Think this was as much about Bradley being our priority than Ellis not wanting to come here. They weren't both going to the same place.
