Funny you should say that. I don't think they have been Cinderellas for the past 8-10 years, because they compete so well against Big Name schools, and did make it to the finals just a few seasons ago against North Carolina. I would not be surprised if they make the Finals again this season and win it. They definitely have a very strong team that can accomplish it.

Well, the Zag fans still embrace and use the slogan: "The Slipper still fits". You know it's BS and so do I. It's pretty amazing that they have the $$ and magnetic draw to that 6,000 seat arena. Of course their uncompensated network of priests etc. Helps their recruiting.

Clearly Baylor missed the memo.

Being in the WCC doesn't prepare them for MM. They're the bully on the block with the occasional close scrape with BYU or St. Mary's. Few depends upon his OOC schedule to provide some reality of how good the Zags are. Unfortunately last night was a large dose. True they may have been winded by playing UCLA but a team with 18 players should have some depth when OMG, foul trouble strikes.

Few depends upon his OOC schedule to provide some reality of how good the Zags are. Unfortunately last night was a large dose. True they may have been winded by playing UCLA but a team with 18 players should have some depth when OMG, foul trouble strikes. When you're playing a tight (great) game like you did against UCLA you don't play outside your main rotation, and if there's 1 weakness on the Zags it was their bench. They have a ton of talent, but outside of Watson & Cook they're limited. Ballo is injured, who definitely could have helped, and their next 2 bench guys are true FR (& we know Dutch didn't play his FR much in crunch time either). They looked spent to me from the get-go, both mentally & physically from Saturday. They looked a little flat, and that happens despite the circumstances. Combine that with Baylor playing outstanding & that's a deadly combo. Zags will be fine, obviously. Should be loaded, and saw an REALLY early top 25 that had them #1. They'll lose Suggs & Kispert for sure, probably Ayayi & possibly Timme, but the scary thing is with their recruiting they may even be better next year. Especially if they can get a Kessler and/or Holmgren. Really had hoped to see a "perfect season" (really tired of seeing Bobby Knights '76 team pics), but not in the cards. As for the WCC "not preparing them", that's why they went with the 16-game conference schedule. In a normal year they'd have 14-15 non-con games, rather than the 9 they had this year. And IMO BYU is a good program, SMC typically is when not as young as they were this year, and Pepperdine & USF are improving programs, so it's not like the WCC is a complete waste.

Baylor made them look REALLY slow a foot. I don't know how much that had to do with them being tired from the UCLA game, but I don't think it would've mattered much, because they were A LOT quicker A LOT more active.
