The guy has game and moves well with and without the ball, high motor guy that looks active and solid on both side of the court. He really looks like he would fit in the Aztecs style of play, he has that drive to the basket that the aztecs need. The only issue is, DOES his ability transfer to D1 ball??? he seems to pass the eye test.

Jemarl Baker PG Arizona in the portal. 4* out of high school. From Corona, CA. SDSU was after him out of high school. n.rivals.com/content/prospects/2017/jemarl-baker-2189High school teammate with Matt Mitchell, who won Inland Empire POY over Jemarl. I understand Jemarl's sister is an Aztec. Jemarl committed to Cal as a sophomore, then decommitted and went to Kentucky. Two years at Kentucky. One year at Arizona. He should have two to play. This past year averaged 12 ppg, shot 40% from the field, 34% from three. Averaged 2.8 rebounds. 21 assists, 12 turnovers. Here's the thread when he transferred from Kentucky to Arizona. aztecmesa.proboards.com/thread/59578/jemarl-baker-transfer-commits-arizona

They feel like he can fill the role Yanni did, pick in roll, pick in pop and slip screen. A huge get if they can land him.

What ever happened to that D2 kid at Point Loma-Nazarene? Where'd he go and how'd he do?

I know we shouldn't turn this into a wish list, but bring down the Groves Brothers from Eastern Washington. NCAA tournament star and Big Sky Player of the Year; Tanner Groves averaged 17 PPG and 8 RPG this season, shooting 35% from 3-point range and 56% from the field. He had nine double-doubles this season, including 14 points and 14 boards in the Big Sky title game against Montana State. Brother, Jacob Groves, also entered the transfer portal. Groves had 23 points and nine rebounds in the loss to Kansas and averaged 9.3 points this season. I can see them at Gonzaga, but SDSU is the place to be!

I honestly couldn't see Jacob touching the floor at Gonzaga and/or Tanner being more than a reserve. Gonzaga is LOADED and are going to be reloading with pros for the foreseeable future. Maybe these guys want to go compete for time and be on a yearly contender, but I dunno if I see it.

I agree on Gonzaga they are pretty much a lock to land a top 3 recruit for next year too in Chet Holmgrem.
