Again who cares! Winning apparently isn't very important to him. When was the last time WSU was even a top tier program in the Pac 12. There is a season WSU best players tend to transfer out.

Who cares he's a d2 6'0 foot guard. I hope we can do better than this. That's 4" taller than one of our STARTING guards. Some D2 players who made it in the NBA.... Scottie Pippen Dennis Rodman Ben Wallace Jack Sikma Duncan Robinson Devean George Manute Bol Terry Porter

Do we really believe he had an offer from SDSU? I sure don't. Seems like a Plan C or D guy.

[quote yes but the difference is Gomez played D1. His guy was on a D2 college team that to be honest wasn't very good. You really are comparing apples to oranges. I hope you aren't comparing one of the best 3 point shooter in D1 to this guy. Yes you are correct there have been some very good players come out of D2 but they are the rarity. author=" sdcoug"source="/post/1181651/thread" timestamp="1614882334"]Do we really believe he had an offer from SDSU? [/quote] I only pointed it out because you appeared to be making a blanket statement about his lack of height and D2 status and making a judgement solely on that without actually having seen him play. I haven't either, but we just don't know - he could be an undiscovered gem. I do remember seeing a local TV news segment reporting on his success last year with UCSD. Now that UCSD is D1, it would have been interesting to see how he'd do in the Big West. Hopefully, he'll get some good PT with WSU and excel.

He wasn’t coming to SDSU because he’d be on the bench most likely. In addition, he probably has a chip and wants to prove himself in a power 5 conference. Just my opinion, stats will be more important than winning for a guy in his circumstance.

Expressing interest isn't the same thing as offering a scholarship. We could have been interested in him walking on. I doubt he had an executable offer from us.

Maybe he likes Pullman. It's a small town about 30K out in the sticks of SE Washington.
