Why are some college football teams such as North Dakota State playing right now?

Most of your Division II & III schools had their season cancelled. Take North Dakota State for example. They played one game on Oct. 3, and then the rest of their season was cancelled out. Now, they are playing a spring season schedule to make up for it.

That means playing a lot of games or two seasons in just 10 months!
