Everyone who is ready to derail yet another thread, or post a personal attack on a fellow Aztec should take a beat. If you are feeling froggy and want to have a go then take it to the Politics section. I'll be your Huckleberry but stop raising the temperature in the rest of the site. We're all Aztec fans even if our politics aren't the same. I note that you managed to find time to rip on LTB just prior to posting this. And interesting how you were radio silent for the first 2+ pages until the politics no longer aligned with yours. But yes, now lets put the politics to bed, now that you've had your biased say.

I was radio silent, but it wasn't because the politics matched my own. I don't like to talk politics in the Sports section and I let statements roll off in hopes things would cool down. We have sports now to talk about. The election is over. A vaccine is on the way. It is ridiculous that people still want to flame each other in the Sports section over politics. As staying radio silent didn't seem to do the trick, I'm trying something new.

I have found over the past 9 months that declining to participate in any thread that goes off the rails has worked pretty well!

Hospitals typically start getting "overwhelmed" at this time of the year. Check out the 2017-2018 flu season. Some 99.97% of people who contract Covid survive. A good prophylaxis treatment would involve zinc supplement, vitamin D3, vitamin C, melatonin, and quercetin. Most elderly and diabetics are deficient in zinc and zinc is necessary for the body's antiviral immune response. Some doctors prescribe HCQ since it is known as zinc ionophore though that became political. Quercetin also works as one and it is OTC. If you feel like your coming down with something then you hit zinc hard with lozenges like Zicam or such. Businesses are closing in spades and those jobs won't be coming back for years. I've heard some 70% of hotels in this country may close down permanently without massive bailouts so if you are in the hospitality industry your future employment looks bleak. Got to wonder if we still build the hotel at the West Campus site and whether we need to rethink that part of the educational curriculum we provide. We won't need chefs, busboys and waiters at near the level prior to this. Airlines have laid off thousands of people and that will filter through the system as they stop ordering new aircraft. Sales of new private jets, however, are booming. Colleges are laying off as well. You just don't need as much staff for online classes. Their budgets are straining as they are not making the money as landlords that they are accustomed to. The UC system lost $558M in March alone. For politicians, it appears they want to handle the economics of this by printing money. That won't work, of course, so they will raise taxes which will reduce economic activity. You forgot the bleach injection. Works like a champ! You really spent the energy to post something this dumb?

I recently relocated from Sonoma County California to Lexington, Ky for 2 reasons: 1. California politics 2. Cost of housing Result: 1. Traded in hypocrite Pelosi and liar Schiff for good ole country boy Mitch McConnell 2. Traded in my 1 BR apartment & its $2,600 price tag for a 3BR, 3BA house with 2 car garage and fenced in yard at $1,295/mos. Opinion: 1. Win 2. Win If the ICU capacity is so threatening, why isn't the hospital ship Mercy anchored at L.A. harbor? It would have a significant effect at lowering the numbers. We just sold our condo here in Mission Valley yesterday, we're moving to Nashville. Our little 2 bedroom condo fetched 474K, and that's without any improvements whatsoever since we bought it 15 years ago. In Nashville, we just offered on the 2800 square-foot home pictured below. It's on a half acre of land and only 10 miles outside the Downtown Nashville, a mile from the Cumberland River. For just 369K. In effect, we can buy a fishing boat, an Rv and a gorgeous house for the same amount as a 1046 square foot bandbox in festering, traffic ridden Mission Valley (just wait til they start tearing up the golf course next year for the condo project). It's crazy how far money goes outside Cali! Hell, Tennessee's state income tax tops out at 2%. Born and raised in Dago, but it's just not what it was even 20 years ago, let alone in the glorious 70s and 80s when it really was America's Finest City. Final Note: After the appraiser finished his work with us a couple weeks back, he asked if we were moving locally. When we said we were moving to Nashville, he shook his head and said, 'Every seller I've asked for last three weeks said they are moving out of California. It's been nearly a month since someone answered that they were moving locally." Gosh, a beautiful house. I wish I could leave this state and I am a San Diego native. My main vendor is here and it would be difficult, not impossible, however to do business with him were I to relocate. I'd probably look at Utah myself. Heber City is a nice place.

There are some great buys in Mississippi, Russia, Bangladesh-all over the world. Brag about the price you get for your San Diego home, but don't publicly thank Adam Smith. Start supporting a private university too.

Just depends what’s important to you. If the big house is most important then San Diego probably isn’t the best choice. I personally can tolerate a modestly sized house cause I can go outside or to my backyard and the weather is perfect 97% of the year. I had friends that moved to Austin from San Diego but then moved back a few years later cause they couldn’t tolerate the oppressive heat and humidity and constant mosquitos and bugs which meant they couldn’t even spend time in their backyard for large parts of the summer.

Be careful if you leave and be certain it's the right decision for you, because most people can't afford to buy a house and move back here if they decide they don't like where they moved to.

Start supporting a private university too. As if markets aren't being manipulated by interest rates set by the government. Adam Smith my ass.

The government tells you that your 2 bedroom 1 bath detached garage fixer in North Park is worth 900K?

Plus, I saw a stat yesterday that shows how much it costs for a 26-foot U-Haul truck LEAVING California versus moving TO California. It costs 3X to 8X more moving from California with a U-Haul truck than it does to move to California. Sounds to me that California U-Haul rental sites are desperate to have more trucks available for people leaving this state. Oh, and nice game, AZTECS!!! Can attest to this! Renting a truck in San Diego to Nashville, it's $2554 Nashville to San Diego, it's $684. To rent a car tow dolly here, it's 338. To rent one in Nashville, it's 114. Same items. Same Company. Completely different prices. That is nuts! Besides, at our age we don’t move ourselves, we pay them youngsters to do it for us. I haven’t moved myself since like college and I would never ask anyone to help me because I don’t want to help back. 😁 I wonder what a company would charge for a almost cross country move? Pack your house, put on a 18 wheeler and off load into your new house. Can’t be cheap but if a u-haul is $2,500+ and you still need gas, food, lodging, wear/tear on your vehicle, etc. Might not be too much of a difference and well worth the extra expense. Man, I am pumped for the ASU game.

AztecTalk, AztecTalk2, AztecMesa. Names change but the nonsense is the same. Clowns who can't control themselves talking politics where it doesn't belong. There will always be people who leave California and others who backfill them. Move out of CA or don't, nobody gives a $#!+ what you decide. Posting pictures of the house you are buying elsewhere? Lol man get a life. Haters gonna hate! Be happy for another Aztec faithful. He wasn’t bragging or claiming anything. He was just sharing with fellow Aztec fans which I see nothing wrong with.

Good point! I have heard this a number of times from people who have moved out of State. Too expensive to get back in the market. Several years ago a friend told me the story of a well-educated couple on her street, who moved from their native San Diego to Kentucky for all the usually cited reasons. About a year later my friend asked the woman how things were going, and she said it was great, wonderful. The blue grass was beautiful. Roughly another year later she answered the same question by saying life there was fine, good, okay. About twelve more months went by and the couple reappeared back in San Diego. When my friend asked her why they left Kentucky, the woman said, "Because I haven’t had an intelligent conversation in three years."

The conversations were intelligent but as we know, they don't accept any opinion that is inconsistent with their beliefs. Just sayin...my older sister is the same way!
