Seems like a UCLA/SDSU matchup is a strong possibility. From today’s L.A. Times about UCLA’s scheduling strategy. “The only given on UCLA’s schedule is that the Bruins will play San Diego as part of a previous agreement between the teams. The Bruins could add other nonconference games against California opponents, given the geographic advantages. “‘You can do neutral sites, you can get to each other a lot easier, a lot safer, without people having to get on airplanes,’ Cronin said. ‘So the phone lines to all the California schools are open.’”

It would be great to see an Aztec/UCLA Matchup Yes sir, it would be FANTAZTEC for us! Not so sure UCLA would be quite so excited because of what happened to them when they met us the last time in their own tournament! But it would be great!

Diamond Head ClassicDec. 22, 23, & 25 2020 Arizona State Sun Devils Hawai'i Rainbow Warriors North Texas Mean Green Oklahoma Sooners San Diego State Aztecs Saint Mary's Gaels Seattle Redhawks Temple Owls This tournament just went South in a hurry. Oklahoma, Arizona State and Temple dropped out according to SDUT. Not sure if we can find another tournament with big marquee teams. If the best we can hope for is Saint Mary’s it might be time to think about something else if possible. Just my thoughts but the rest of those teams looks like our OOC home schedule.

Yea, ASU dropped out a while ago & are looking to host their own MTE or participate in one in Vegas. It'll be interesting to see how the non-con plays out. The good news is we're an attractive, resume building team, so other good teams will want to push for us to be in their MTE's to help build their resumes, as well as ours.

would guess ESPN will put a collection of schools together- no matter what T they were originally in and then make sure each team gets 3 or 4 games -

What are the chances any home games for fans will be viewed at home in Viejas?

What are the chances any home games for fans will be viewed at home in Viejas? You'll have to check with your friendly neighborhood state governor on that. Considering we can't attend football games outdoor even with limited fans I doubt we'll be able to attend indoor basketball games in person. Could change mid/late season I suppose, depending on how things go.
I fully expect that I'll be viewing games in Viejas at home this season given that I'm in the vulnerable age group. I'll buy my season tickets as usual regardless.

I’m in that group too. But I already have my season tickets for basketball do I’m not sure what my options will be at this point.

I suspect we'll have the same options regarding our basketball season tickets that we had with football season tickets. Unless of course, there aren't any substantial restrictions on attending games in person. I can't imagine things will improve fast enough for that to happen before the season starts.
Lets hope that the football players don't end up having too many Covid problems so the basketball season can happen.

Definitely hope you’re right but with the ever changing parameters we’re dealing with in this state, who knows?😲

The full (tentative) schedule has been released, and shown below. IMO 2 bad, or extremely tough stretches, which are back to back road games at altitude (Wyoming & USU - the backend will be brutal), and Fresno & Boise back to back. Fresno shouldn't be that could, but coming back & basically leaving 48 hours later is tough, and shorter if Fresno is a late game.
Dec. 29: New Mexico Jan. 2: at UNLV Jan. 5: Boise State Jan. 9: San Jose State Jan. 12: at Wyoming Jan. 16: at Utah State Jan. 19: Fresno State Jan. 23: Nevada Jan. 26: at Air Force Jan. 30: bye Feb. 2: at New Mexico Feb. 6: Utah State Feb. 9: at San Jose State Feb. 13: Colorado State Feb. 16: Air Force Feb. 20: at Fresno State Feb. 23: at Boise State Feb. 27: UNLV March 2: bye March 6: at Nevada
March 10-13: Mountain West tournament, Las Vegas

would guess that ESPN will give teams a date to decide if they want to participate in Orlando - then split them up into various T's - hope to give most schools 3 to 4 games

If we stay in it Seattle dropping out is a good thing. I agree on Seattle. But heard ASU and Oklahoma drop? Yes, which is fine. ASU got the invite to play in the Empire Classic. Since we're playing them in Tempe that's less important. In theory, if we stay in it, there should be plenty of teams in Orlando or who want to be in Orlando, and from a broader group of conferences.
