I think the CA schools need to get permission from Newsome don’t they? Can the CA schools play on their own? Serious question and please don’t get political.

I don’t think Washington, Oregon or California would let football take place.

Does the Carson agreement include the possibility of games this fall? Is Carson even available this fall? Big questions. I get why JD wants us to play there after reading his comments in the newspaper, but if we go to a fall schedule we could be playing on odd days and times, maybe. Also, no way would fans be allowed. No worries about long drives or bus rides for students.

It did not foreclose on playing this fall, but it sure seems to be a long row to hoe.

We would be playing football right now if it wasn't for Gavin Newsom. He only gave the NFL, MLB, and NBA permission to play here in California with no fans. College, High School, and youth sports aren't allowed to play games. (Its a political game) This is why alot of the youth sports teams are driving in big crowds to Arizona and Utah to play games on the weekends.

"Months"? Being plural that could mean just 8 weeks, but he makes it sound even worse. The P12 will have the ability for Rapid Testing daily in 2 weeks, which is a big reason the NFL is being allowed to practice/play. If the P12/MWC push it & have the same testing & safety capabilities as the Chargers/Rams, I have a hard time believing they won't be allowed to practice/play for "months". Prior reports had said the P12 was looking at early Dec for games (which to me is too late to matter), but I could see it even sooner. Another P12 issue is they are holding firm on requiring 6 weeks of prep/practice before their first game, whereas many believe you can do it in 4, 5 max. If rapid daily testing starts 9/30, they petition Newsome to allow practice as a result, start 1-2 weeks later & are willing to go with 4-5 weeks of prep they could start playing in mid Nov, and potentially earlier. I think Ziegler might be right given the type of leadership the P12 has, but he's being a little over-dramatic. USC is lobbying Newsome already to allow them & others to practice if they can meet the same protocols. Daily rapid testing is a game changer, and I'm pleased to see the MWC is exploring the same.

Good for the Big 10 to take their time and not just rush back into playing football. They put their student athletes before money and outside pressure.
I just don't see Newsom giving college football an ok when he won't allow youth soccer or baseball/softball to be played. When we see a change to those then maybe we'll see a change to football.

Governor Newsome just announced in his noon briefing that colleges can play football if they meet the NCAA's guidelines. What was not discussed is fans in the stadium, or not, which would probably be defined by the County the stadiums are in.

Bold face lies.. It sounds like he is back pedaling now. We have previous asked public health official about playing games and they always come back saying no youth, high school, or college sports per Newsom. We are allowed to practice as long as their is only 12 ppl but no games.

I'm sure someone will point that out and Newsom will have to do some serious back pedaling.

I'm sure someone will point that out and Newsom will have to do some serious back pedaling. Newsom is a bumb, Trump is pressuring states to open up And Pelosi the opposite, that’s a fact, it’s politics and the athletes are the ones who are being used as pawns, let em play, freedom.
