I definitely think the P12 starts well before January, given they're exploring late October & November, especially if they want to align with the B1G, which is a goal. At least everything I've seen. If the MWC can get those rapid testing machines hopefully we can ramp up our timeline as well. Unfortunately we're running up against the clock.

Just heard today on the news (Sept. 4th) that the PAC 12 is now thinking about using a 15 minute Covid-19 test for their athletes, and may decide to move up the football schedule to early November, this year! If, that happens other conferences may soon follow and we may have football after all. Sounds good to me!

I think we'll basically do what ever the PAC 12 does, unless it's cost prohibitive for a G5 conference.

I think we'll basically do what ever the PAC 12 does, unless it's cost prohibitive for a G5 conference. Agreed. We were stupid to follow their lead initially, and should have been looking more at the B12 & AAC, but now that the P12 is rethinking their decision I'd hope that opens up our door as well. I also think any additional costs involved (rapid test machines, etc.), would be offset by regaining certain elements of the TV contract, and I'd assume the conference headquarters would pick up the tab.

That was fun, and very, very happy I sat in the shade!!! There was shade? Thankfully yes, after the 1st 10 minutes or so of the game. Just below the suites.

Thankfully yes, after the 1st 10 minutes or so of the game. Just below the suites. We considered moving over there, but glad we didn't as being with all of the fellow Aztecs for the historic win was epic, albeit dehydrating.

It was fun. Glad we really won that it wasn't a heat induced mirage.

The Pac-12, Big Ten, MW should go ahead with their plans to start in tandem with the new test devices but they (and we) need to remember that as soon as we get a grip on the direction this pandemic is going, good or bad, the pendulum swings in the other direction. Everyone is panicking in July, now we're acting like everything will be okay through the end of the year. It might be, but it might not.

It was a designated SDSU section; 100's of people sitting there. Was a great time & was able to celebrate with fellow Aztecs as well! : )

I think we'll basically do what ever the PAC 12 does, unless it's cost prohibitive for a G5 conference. My only question is what about the other conferences that have already started? Will there seasons be over when we start? Will there be two college football seasons? Two championships? Are they going to wait until we play our regular season? I mean the SEC and AAC will be done with their season by December. Or am I understanding this all wrong?

They have the $$$$ for every day testing, MWC doesn't.

They have the $$$$ for every day testing, MWC doesn't. Nobody is doing everyday testing. The P12 was planning 3 tests per week, and I believe the MWC was 2 if not 3 as well. The issue was testing as close to game day as possible while getting results back in time. The Rapid Teat allows that.
