With every kickoff the Pac 12 and MWC look more and more foolish for canceling their seasons. What a lack of will and leadership at every level.

Oh no! Postponed! Might as well give up on the whole season. You can stay at home If you want but the majority of the college football world is playing right now and other than a few postponements everything is going fine.

I keep wondering what the schools in the West know that those in the other parts of the country don’t?

Typical You are only worried about yourself. These kids aren’t paid to play. What are you going to tell me next? To leave this country if I don’t like this president. You guys are same with your canned stupid responses

You guys are same with your canned stupid responses You are right that they are not paid to play, but don't forget there are many players out there because they want to play despite the danger. They are not being forced to play either. So, if nothing else that should tell how badly these student/athletes want to play a game. For the seniors they know that if they are going to the NFL it is their only chance to get the Pros to watch them before graduation. They don't want to miss that opportunity to show their talent in this last season. I have heard many say that on TV news, so you can't blame them. Plus, top athletes at this age are not very likely to die even if they get the virus. A majority people have survived it, and they probably will also. It is their decision.

So all these kids playing football in high school and college are playing against their will? Are all these kid selfish and only thinking of themselves? All their schools decided it was safe to play. I sure hope you aren’t watching these dangerous games. Also, looks like the Big 10 is reconsidering and could start playing football in October. Pretty selfish. If the Big 10 does return to play the Pac 12 and MWC will look even more foolish.

I would love for you to have that conversation with the university presidents and get laughed out of the room. They are making educated decisions based on all the factors in play not just football.

Moot point with the on-campus COVID rate at SDSU. We wouldn't even be practicing right now.
I do agree with the OP that the blanket fall cancellations were nearsighted. I felt the same way about the NCAA Tournament. It would have been canceled in hindsight, but the powers-that-be didn't even give the situation a chance. Same now for football. Odds are a fall season wouldn't take place here but the fact that they're not even keeping the door open is a shame.

It’s a canned response that certain groups of people keep repeating. It’s not about me, it’s about protecting players who aren’t paid. for a game. The costs involved and the risk don’t match the worth.

The overwhelming majority of the high school and college football world disagrees with you. They believe the cost and the risk are worth it. I am glad they do. I hope you’re enjoying watching college football as much as I am.

Just because you see people drinking and driving...don't mean it's the thing to do...I'm sure most that do make it home just fine...they don't die...but there are those who not only do...but take someone innocent with them...and it's not just death...it's scaring injuries that last forever...so just because some organizations/leagues choose the buck over player health...doesn't mean it's the thing to do...just because some kid or young man wants to play...who would probably do so if radiation levels were excessive...doesn't mean it's the thing to do...the MWC and SDSU made the right decision for everyone involved...

It’s not like the teams that are playing didn’t consult with medical professionals. The medical professionals deemed it safe to play so they are playing.
If the Big 10 decides to start playing in October you watch how fast the Pac 12 gets on board too. Then the MWC will follow.

In 2019, about this many people died from...
250,000 from misdiagnosis and medical malpractice, should we stop seeing doctors? 39,000 from auto accidents, should we stop driving cars? 70,000 from the flu, should we just permanently live in bubbles? 700,000 babies killed from abortions, I guess our country doesn’t care about babies
I would like to know how many “actual” deaths for young adults 17-25 years old from covid-19, to justify players losing their opportunity to earn a career in football. I do remember lots of people on this board reminding me college athletes are a business and should show no loyalty to the school. So why should the school then take the opportunity away from the students?

Im not sure we can at this point in time determine if the decision to play or not play was right. I think this is one of those things where in a year or two we will know what was the right decision. I love college football but it is hard to watch knowing if someone is infected, many more will be.'
BYU just went down for at least a week. TCU went down last week. May be blips on the radar but who knows.
Also important to note even if the MWC wanted to play football, the state of California will not allow it. So I guess the MWC really had no choice unless they decided to play without 3 teams.
I hope all the teams that are playing stay healthy and we regret not playing. The alternative is much worse.

Secondhand cigarette smoke is classified as a ‘toxic air contaminant,(2) killing tens of thousands of Americans every year.(3) It is especially dangerous for children, pregnant women, the elderly and those with chronic illnesses. (3) www.cdc.gov/vitalsigns/tobacco/index.htmlBan all smoking everywhere too. This to me is apples to apples b/c its airborne.
