I guess the people in the states with Big 12, ACC, AAC and SEC football are ok with watching their death toll skyrocket. Also I think they are playing High School football in 26 States. Combine that with the NFL playing there should be a massive spike in deaths coming. By the end of October we will know if it was safe to play football. We will have enough data by then. Huh? Are you saying that football is going to lead to a massive spike in deaths? How are they correlated? The players are probably as safe if not safer than anyone else in those areas. I am not going to jump into the political side of this discussion, but a number of the schools are allowing fans to go to the games. Iowa State, for example, is planning on 25,000 fans coming to their opener. Florida State said they would allow tailgating. Not to mention fans gathering to watch games on tv at bars, etc. Whether there would be a massive spike in deaths, I don't know, but it is not only the football players that are an issue.

What I am saying is that we should be playing football and we are going see that those states playing football will be just fine and by the end of October and into November will see this in the data of those states. I was being a little Sarcastic in my other post but that’s hard to read in text. Sorry about that.

Is it true that Air Force is playing games against Army and Navy? They mentioned it on ESPN last night and said they were given a waiver of some sort. Doesn't make any sense to play just two games. Better than playing zero games. Ask any player on Air Force’s roster and they would say the same thing. Air Force is scheduled to play Navy on 10/3 and Army five weeks later on 11/7 on CBS.

Can't disrupt history; glad to see them doing it. Definitely will give them a leg up on spring ball, if it happens. Wonder if they'll limit their total full practices to Fall + Spring combined, or if they'll get the full practice slate in the spring?

1) Yes, absolutely... Let's up the death toll even higher in the name of you being entertained. 2) If you haven't been masked up and socially distant for the past 6 months, you've got no one to blame but yourself. In fact, I'm pissed at you on behalf of all the people who like college football, hoped it would be played safely this fall, AND did the things necessary to make that happen. Those who didn't... You are the reason you get to watch Central Arkansas State play a pretend season, and nothing much else. CA has been on the most restrictive lockdown of and State and yet has the highest amount of cases. The Gestapo tactics ain't working.

You do realize the difference between "number of cases" and "number of cases, per capita"?!? By a PROPER measure of analysis, the ten states with the worst cases per capita are: Louisiana Florida Mississippi Arizona Alabama Georgia South Carolina Tennessee Nevada New York www.statista.com/statistics/1109004/coronavirus-covid19-cases-rate-us-americans-by-state/

I wish the MWC were playing football this fall if for nothing else but that I'm over all the coronavirus threads and politics threads outside the politics section. Not having sports blows.

FIFY. SD currently has the most exciting team in pro sports and we've got a number of unpolitical threads going in the Pads section here, you should check it out.

Lied? I was responding to the psoter who didn't like using Sweden as a comparison, so I took that comparison out of the discussion. I stand by the comparison to Sweden, and by the way Sweden never locked down and it now has a lower death-per-million than the US.

Very funny video! And, like I have said the main thing is not the total number of cases of Covid-19, but the actual percentage who have actually died from it. Very low percentage indeed! As a U.S. President once said (decades ago), "The Only Thing We Have To Fear Is Fear Itself! So, if you believe in all the fear of this crisis you are probably hiding in your basement! But, we will get out of this eventually, because there are many good people working on it.

With the P12 exploring starting in November, along with the B1G, I think the MWC won't be far from following suit. They should have followed the lead of the AAC & B12 to begin with, but they hitched their wagon the P12 & no reason not to continue to do so.
