Rather than start a BMW Results thread, since X is the only Aztec actively still playing thought I'd start one in his name instead to carry over for 2 weeks.
Shot E par today, keeping him at +3 for the tournament. Sound bad? It's not. +3 is good enough for 13th place, and an Even round was basically the same as 3 under par on the course today. The average score was +3. The leaders are at -1, so only 4 off the lead, and 2 shots from being in the top 5.
If he can finish in the top 10 that'll set him up very well for the Tour Championship next week, which is an odd handicapped tournament nowadays where your handicap is determined by your Fed Ex points.
If he wins the Fed Ex Cup it'll be the biggest payday in his history (by far). Maybe we see the Schauffele locker rooms in the new stadiums!

I like X's game on that set up. And with that set up, I think any of the guys that are 4-5 strokes off the lead going in to the weekend have a shot. That course is a U.S. Open set up!

How many years did he play? I doubt they would use the name of a golfer in a football stadium no matter how successful he was. Or, are you joking?

If he wins the Fex Ex Cup it'll be his biggest payday, meaning hopefully he will have money to donate back to SDSU. Since fundraising is focused on the new stadium, maybe he buys the naming rights to the locker room. Didn't think that was too hard to comprehend?

He may need a lot of the money he would win to pay expenses. Playing on the road in golf is not an inexpensive game at all. He may donate some to the university, but not as much as you think!

Dude, for one I don't care if he does or doesn't donate, just speculating that if someone wins $15 MILLION he'll need some tax write-offs. And no, Schauffele makes more than enough money off his regular earnings to cover his expenses. The Fed Ex Cup payout is just a major, major bonus.

I'm simply saying someone winning $15M with ties to the athletic department might be interested in donating to the cause. He donates his time to the university, and he has a connection, so maybe he'll get involved. Some do, some don't (i.e. Kawhi). Damn you blow things way out of proportion. Wow.

Xander now likely has more income from endorsements in a year than he does on the golf course. He recently purchased a 6200 s.f. home on the Grande Golf Club in Carmel Valley for $2.5M. I think he's doing pretty well

Back on topic, X shot a -3 today, bringing him to -6 overall given his starting handicap (-3). At this point it's the 4th best round of the day, and places him in 8th spot overall. Johnson leads at -12, but he started at -10 (7 strokes up) so X gained 1 stroke on him (thus far).
1st place = $15M; 3rd = $4M; 8th = $1.1M; 10th = $830k
Finish in the top 10 & you're collecting major cash, basically the equivalent of finishing 1st in some tourneys and 2nd in others.

According to the fact sheet on the Tour Championship website, he has earned almost $18 million so far In his short career. That’s just from tournament play. Add endorsement income to that? Yes I’d say he’s doing quite well for himself.

You are right that "sdcoug" seems to get too hung up on what he thinks others are saying. He takes himself and me too seriously, and doesn't seem to get it. No big deal to me.

Xander was -3 on the front side today, and stands in 4th place with 2.5 rounds to go.
There will be HUGE payouts on Monday:
1. $15,000,000 2. $5,000,000 3. $4,000,000 4. $3,000,000 5. $2,500,000 6. $1,900,000 7. $1,300,000 8. $1,100,000
It seems like Xander may be peaking at the right time. I have a feeling he is due for a win very soon. Maybe this week, or maybe in two weeks at Winged Foot if he is hitting fairways?

........and now, back to a blazing hot Xander Schauffle!!
He's shot 3 birdies in a row going to the 18th hole, and he's just one shot off the lead held by Dustin Johnson.
Ended up shooting a 65 on day 2.

X playing in the final paring with DJ tomorrow. It looks like an uphill climb but anything can happen.

4 great players in the final 2 pairings, but X is playing great. If this were a normal tournament he'd have a 2 stroke lead but instead he's down 5 to a guy who's a machine right now.

X is in 2nd, 2 strokes down with 2 to play. Great performance, but most likely will fall just short. That said, if they were still going by the old rules he would have won this tournament, but not the Fed Ex Cup just like he did in 2017. Kid loves this course!

X finished tied for 2nd. If he would have birdied the last hole it would been worth 1/2 million dollars. His drive on the 17th went into the fairway bunker, and his drive on the 18th went into the deep rough and he had to lay up.
