Has anybody seen or heard about any kind of construction schedule? I was wondering when and how they plan on working-in the River Park project. If done right, the River Park could really make a major impact on the whole project. I would like to see more landscaping sooner then later in that area. This is just soooo exciting for so many of us who have always wanted another (lets call it this) on-campus stadium.
I have seen and heard talk about Stadium timelines never seen any comments on the River Park just that it was being done along with the stadium in the 1st phase.
I am not talking spec date just a general type date of start on south side of project/park. Is the park time line a 6 month, 1 year, 2 year..... project? will it be built out in multiple phases? It stretches pretty far along the entire south and east boundaries of the site.
The SWPPP patrol are going to have their hands full on this site!

Not a construction cam, but from the Twitter account of our late beloved Mr. Aztec are a few pictures.

My guess is once the cam(s) go up, knowing this crowd, some combination of the following will occur: - why did it take so long to get the cams up? that's stupid! - why are there only X cams? that's stupid! - the quality sucks on the cams! that's stupid! - why can't i control the cams? that's stupid! - why did they place the cams there? that's stupid! - who decided that spending so much money on cams was a good idea? that's stupid! - who decided that spending so little money on cams was a good idea? that's stupid!

Yep. 100%. And most of all those people won’t be buying season tickets anyhow. Their $100 per seat for six or seven games days are over.

"Want to play a game" lets make this fun, almost like a debate, -Construction cam install not rocket science -Have known about construction job for many years, should have planned this better. -With technology today, why aren't cameras up already? -should have at least one camera up by now! -General contract does this for a living and should know how to have this done already! -Where is the SDSU construction website? -why don't we have a current overlay with the 50 yard line in place? Just having some fun here. I think we are all just happy to see it start and progressing the way it is. I am " more concerned with the FIRST game then the first construction cam!"
Go Aztecs!

I feel like a drive down from North County might be needed soon. I would like to see it in person. Sometimes pictures just don’t tell the whole story.

Someone brought up the idea a while ago of how they should leave one of the spiral walkways in-place and work it into some new construction. After thinking about it, I am now all for it. I can (sure a lot of you can also) remember looking over the and edge and then running down all the way to the bottom and just having so much fun. This now has me thinking that real soon we can relive our childhood one last time and ride down those same ramps in our "Little Rascal scooters" or wheelchairs (maybe faster!).
Just excited to see this project moving along! was just to young to understand what was going on when the original SD Stadium was built. I have to admit it has been fun watching the local colleges grow from the late 70's to now just look at the changes in the San Diego JC's (Mesa, Miramar and City) SDSU and UCSD.
This all is just a sign of the times I guess, everything is just growing and progressing and WE are the ones getting older, But boy has it been a pretty cool ride with a few miles to go!
Go Aztecs!
*just trying to keep things active here on the site while waiting for the games to get started again.

Thanks for posting this video; it's like saying goodbye to an old friend. Lots of greats memories with friends and family were had at San Diego Stadium, the Murph, the Q, and now SDCCU. Looking forward to new memories at Aztec Stadium!
