Profar is hitting .094 and should be benched in favor of France and Garcia. He hit a minuscule .218 last year, so his skills are clearly in decline.

Hard to figure a guys skill set is "in decline" at the ripe old age of 27. I'm just not sure he's as good as he looked his one "big" season in Texas, which was pretty solid. I just do not think he is a very good hitter.
I think he's known for solid defense and being a viable platoon guy, but no-- he should not be playing every day, and he should absolutely NOT be hitting 4th.
Had an .835 OPS vs. lefties last season.

I’ll put it a different way.....he sucked last year too. Largely due to a .218 BABIP, which is roughly 80 points below league average.

He only has to double his BA in order to get above the fabled Mendoza Line.

Well, his % of "hard hit balls with an exit velocity of ______ were caught WAY more than league average". hahaha It's just the truth. League average is roughly .300. It's part of the reason why Renfroe and Reyes struggled mightily here (Reyes was in the .250's with his BABIP, which cratered his average.) Providing something like "X guy sucks" and pointing to batting average without providing context is faulty.

Profar does not look good at the plate. He's very athletic, but he's a number 9 hitter at best. In reality, he should be a spot starter, but someone who mainly comes off the bench.

Profar is hitting .094 and should be benched in favor of France and Garcia. He hit a minuscule .218 last year, so his skills are clearly in decline. Profar has had a hot couple of weeks and has been a solid contributor in the bottom of the lineup. I’ll gladly admit my predictions of him being done were premature. Good for JP! Hopefully he can have a few memorable moments in the playoffs.

It's hilarious to read through this thread & see how many posts didn't age well at all. All he's doing is mirroring his stats post all-star break last year & closer to his entire 2018 season. He got off to a slow start last year as he was pressing, getting used to a new team & environment. This year the same, but he's adjusted faster.
Like Myers, who was good after the all-star break last year and exceptional in September, this wasn't that hard to see. Both are talents with big upside. Both deserved patience, and luckily it was Tingler & Preller making the decisions not the fans.
