Padre pitchers better than anyone, do the Padres have the Balls to bring back Darren Balsley to fix their bullpen woes fast?

Over the years the Padres claimed many pitchers off waivers for a song. Balsley molded a bunch of those guys into really good pitchers for the team. More than a few were traded for good payers over the years. He did it again and again. Never saw anyone do it better. Where was Yates before Balsley started working with him? Brad Hand? Look back over the past years of Balsleys tenure for the results. He already knows some of the guys that are having trouble and is a proven fixer of pitcxhers.
I got nothing against Rothschild, I just see DB as a better guy for a team that needs a fast fix in a short season.
As for the top 3 starters: They were all ready to go, all Rothschild had to do was turn 'em loose. Let's see how he does with Luchese, Quantrill and the other guys that need some help.

You're cherrypicking a few examples here, which is fine. But the reason the bullpen is struggling is A) Small sample size noise and B) The ramping up, down and back up again in a short camp. Relief guys are all about rhythm and routine. This isn't about new pitches or anything. |

Starters are : 5th in WAR, 3rd in FIP, 7th in walk rate and 10th in ERA. The bullpen's going to be fine once they get into a rhythm. Tonight was big from a confidence standpoint. |

But remember, teams only had three weeks of spring training and Yates didn’t get his normal workload during summer camp, so I don’t believe his poor start. His stuff is the same. His average fastball velocity from last year is unchanged and although he doesn’t have the feel for his split-finger quite yet and the command isn’t what we’re used to, I expect in the next 10 days he’ll go back to being one of the best closers in the game."
