If you liked the prior seasons you'll love this one. No egotistical coaches, and their players go through so much more playing in Oakland, CA than the 2 prior seasons (Mississippi & Kansas). No scholarships, housing, food, etc. One kid sleeps in his car.

Just binged it, really good. The coach at Laney is such a better mentor than the jackasses in the previous seasons.

I grew up in Oakland and used to live just up the street from Laney so I am especially loving it.

Always my favorite show of the year. Beam got carried away at times, but was the sort of man you want coaching your kid. Great season.

Not gonna lie I preferred the drama in seasons 3 and 4. It reminded me of all the hot-head coaches I played for growing up and playing Pop Warner/High School. I'm only halfway through season 5 and while it's still enjoyable, it feels like a generic football documentary.
